Dave Smiley's Christmas Stunt (Dec 1998)

Dave Smiley from the New Mix 95.7 - Smiley Morning Show is doing it again this year -- raising toys and food for the kids and hungry this holiday season!!

On Dec 14th, Dave did the craziest thing he thinks he has ever done! He was covered in concrete!

This took place in the parking lot of DOW in Vista (Hacienda Dr), he was put into a small box and then concrete was over it until it hardened. No food and total isolation until he gets his goal of 9570 pounds of food for the SD Food Bank and 9570 toys for TOYS FOR TOTS! He got over 11,000 pounds of food, although he got about 3000 pounds of toys.

Thanks to all who helped him out.

Dave "concrete man" Smiley :)

KLAC Catches Tuna (Dec 1998)

From Radio Guide USA:

Longtime L.A. DJ Charlie Tuna may have lost out on the K-Earth morning gig, but his consolation prize is the morning show on KLAC 570 AM. He replaced the "Imus in the Morning Show," which moved to KRLA 1110 AM. He joined the Chancellor-owned adult standards outlet very close to the 31-year anniversary of his auspicious Southland debut on KHJ 930 AM, Thanksgiving Day 1967. Bob Hamilton, who programmed KHJ-AM in the '70s and oversaw KRTH-FM's transition from automated to live programming, is in charge of KLAC-AM programming. He is expected to add more local personalities to the schedule and move away from the station's dependence on the Westwood Adult Standards service.
