David Tanny Gets on the Web (Sep 16, 1995)

This is the beginning of what is now known as the cluster of davesfunstuff.com

Way back in 1995, I launched a website of about 1 megabyte of space on this old page, which no longer exists: http://www.geopages.com/Hollywood/1715

Among the subjects covered were San Diego radio, Dr. Demento, Today in History, Optical Illusions, and other subjects.

Testing...1-2-3...Testing...9-5-7 (Sep 11, 1995)

Carlsbad-licensed KKOS, at 95.9 FM until Friday at NOON, is testing the new transmitter at 95.7 broadcasting from Mount Soledad.

Tri-Cities Broadcasting owns KKOS and KCEO 1000 (Vista).

Thanks to a complex move of Mexican frequency allotments, which I won't get into here, the frequency of 95.7, which was once occupied by a Mexican broadcaster that moved to another frequency, will be filled by KKOS that Friday with a new set of all letters: KUPR...Music First. Anyone know why they settled on changing their call letters instead of keeping them as they were?

The old ERP of KKOS at 3kw on 95.9 will go silent when the new ERP of KUPR at 7.2kw officially goes on the air.

You Want Berger In The Evening? (September 1995)

The popular duo of Berger and Prescott takes over the late afternoon drive at KFMB-AM 760 airing from 5-8pm.

The duo got their start on KGB-FM sometime in the mid-80s, then from 1990-95 were on 91X until the station replaced them with Howard Stern from New York.

This replaces one hour of news followed by a two hour block of sports talk.

Cabin Shuts Down (September 1995)

Cabin 100.1 has been sold and their tenants evicted!

KBNN, the station coming all the way from Julian with 48 watts of soft music power plans to change their call letters as well. They changed their format to religious music originating from the K-Love radio network in Sacramento. All of the employees at KBNN were pink slipped.
