Mikey and @@.@ FM Drama on Twitter (Oct 6, 2011)The @@@@@ Show begins a 28-hour @@@@@thon on radio station @@@@ @@.@ FM from @:@@ AM until @@:@@ AM. The reason why we're censoring key parts of the headline is that this station never bothers to send us any news about their special events to our website. Therefore, we will not be publicizing any of the unnamed radio station's events in question until they learn to use e-mail to send their special event press releases to us.It's competetor, 91X is getting slammed by people on twitter who are complaing about something 91X said on the airwaves against their competetor if they said anything at all about it. I wasn't listening to 91X. A tweeter said that 91X is telling people not to listen to the other station for a @@@@@thon Thursday through Friday. Another said "Take 91X off your dial. However, it is discovered that Mike Esparza has tweeted this tweet: @MikeyShowMikey: "LET THEM KNOW HOW DISGUSTING IT IS!!!!! LET 91X KNOW HOW DISGUSTING IT IS TO PROGRAM AGAINST AUTISM!!!" So Mikey started the drama, eh? 91X's slammers are his alleged fan base. Mike Esparza, you're a cat hairball in the radio landscape. I program against you and your station all the time with Dave's Fun Stuff Radio at dt.davesfunstuff.com and the only difference is that my shows are listenable. And this: @readysteadystop "@MikeyShowMikey Shut up, Mikey. I'm autistic and I'd much rather listen to music than your nonsensical drivel for 28 hours. Or even one." Seen the ratings for @@@@ @@.@ FM lately? KGTV Sold (Oct 5, 2011)The McGraw-Hill Companies today announced a definitive agreement to sell its nine-station Broadcasting Group to The E. W. Scripps Company for $212 million in cash. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. The deal includes San Diego's KGTV channel 10 and KZSD-LP cable 15 (currently over-the-air on analog channel 39). "This transaction is another step in executing McGraw-Hill's Growth and Value Plan for the benefit of our shareholders, customers and employees," said Harold McGraw III, chairman, president and chief executive officer. "This divestiture will produce good value for a non-strategic asset as we work to create two focused operating companies, one centered on capital and commodities markets and the other on digital learning and education services. Our goal is to enhance strategic and financial flexibility and to establish two pure-play investment opportunities for shareholders. The Growth and Value Plan also includes accelerated share repurchases and actions to increase efficiency and reduce overhead costs. "I am proud of the contributions the Broadcasting Group has made during its rich history with McGraw-Hill. Scripps is a respected media company that will provide an excellent new home for our broadcasting stations and allow them to deepen their ties and value in the markets they serve," Mr. McGraw continued. The Broadcasting Group includes ABC affiliates in Denver, Colorado (KMGH-TV), San Diego, California (KGTV), Bakersfield, California (KERO-TV), Indianapolis, Indiana (WRTV) and Azteca America affiliates in Denver, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, San Diego and Bakersfield.

In addition to broadcasting all 162 regular-season games, at least seven Spring Training games and all potential postseason games, the popular AM station will partner with the Dodgers on a fully-integrated marketing campaign, to promote the team on Clear Channel Radio stations. "The Dodgers are synonymous with Los Angeles. The team has the ability to connect people regardless of age, gender or race. Our Clear Channel stations have multi-demo and multi-cultural appeal that nicely complements the Dodgers' brand and will provide unique marketing opportunities," said Greg Ashlock, President and Market Manager, Clear Channel Communications, who began his career in the Dodgers' front office. If we're paying for the old analog versions of channels such as TBS, TNT, and ESPN, then just give us the HD versions of the same channels in the clear QAM with no need for a converter box. ESPN, TBS and TNT are letterboxing the HD signals for the analog versions. We get a picture that has a thick border on four sides. The letters are harder to read. Even using the zoom function doesn't help as some of the words are unintelligable at best. With the cost of expanded cable around $40 a month now, this isn't the time to be greedy especially in the time where people are contemplating cutting the cable cord and doing away with all but the starter cable lineup (without ESPN, USA, TNT, TBS, and other cable channels). Just do the right thing. Find a way to give us the HD channels in the clear and improve your service. Cox cable is deplorable today. There just isn't any excuse for this senseless embargo.
