Susan Lucci Stays with AMC (Oct 1, 2009)This cliffhanger has been resolved. Erica Kane will be on TV in the 10s decade.Reliable sources state that when All My Children moves its studios from New York to Los Angeles, thus becoming soaps' version of the Dodgers when it moved from Brooklyn about 50 years ago, many of the cast members would have to move across the nation to be near the new location, or be released from their contracts. Susan Lucci will go along west, but keep her N.Y. residence, so she will end up being a cross-country commuter. Several cast members were either let go or chose not to renew their contracts for various reasons. The website daytimeconfidential.com has been keeping tabs on what cast members stay or go. Production for AMC in Los Angeles begins in early January. Ratings for it, however, have been among the lower-half for some time. With "Guiding Light" gone, it may have an easier time being the three networks' lowest-rated soap if not the lowest-rated network show between the four major networks overall.
