WHEN YOU GET A TAD UNHAPPY.REMEMBER!!

Up here in Upstate New York the best part of the year is about now. Humidity is about 100%. Mosquitoes are in high season. The sun presents itself when it damned well pleases and there's been enough rain to put Seattle to shame. Ahead the joy and wonders of snow, shoveling, plowing, ice, parkas, snow tires and chains and lugging in firewood to keep the frost off your pumpkin (or whatever). I kid the folks here about having to return to San Diego and constant sunshine and normally moderate temperatures (all the time) and bespeak the joys I leave behind in these environs.

We often say "another day in paradise," in San Diego. It be so.

MUTTERINGS

**JUST ME? Or is Hitler making a comeback? Seems like everybody is comparing everybody to Hitler. Obama is Hitler. Rush is Hitler. Some lawmakers have the swastika spray painted on their office signs.

I kinda gag whenever Hitler's name is produced. I have relatives on my wife's side who escaped the death camps. Their parents did not.

So when it comes to slinging good ole Adolph's name around in casual fashion I find it more than offensive. But maybe it's just me.

While on topic, are you with me again? Is today's discourse a lot like being on the school yard when you were a kid? Name calling. It could get brutal and often led to bloody noses and blackened eyes. You quickly learned to give as well as you got both verbally and when necessary physically.

Your mother wears combat boots

Four eyes

Pizza face

Is that your face or did your pants fall down

Fatso

Etc

In order to be a really great talk show host today you have to come up with foul kinda nicknames for folks. Paul Begala is "forehead." Harry Reid is "Dingy Harry," and all like that. Or "BillO The Clown." The childish nonsense knows no party.

And remaining somewhat near topic.the townhall sessions. My wife is of a mind that the yelling and shouting and close to violence is kinda good. She figures at least folks are showing up at the meetings. Many (some) are actually reading the draft healthcare legislation page by page. And she applauds the fact that there is a national discussion underway, unruly as it may be.

As for me..I agree that there will be a death panel that will decide on my demise. I'm not in favor of that. And I'm sure that I'll be on government health care..What do we call it? Obamacare?...Wait, I already am.I'm on Medicare part A and B. Am I doomed?

Must be because I'm a famous celebrity that I still get to see my family doc, Jim Rickets, and my heart guy Tom Young. But I've got to wait a full year to see Doc Young again..course that's the next time he wants to see me.and I ain't bitchin' about that.

But I do want to bitch about the healthcare plan. Mostly so I can brag that I belong to the Mob and impress The Stragglers. Trouble is I don't have a town hall meeting to attend. My Congressman is Duncan D. Hunter. He's a great guy and I worked hard to help get him elected. I don't figure I can go to his town meeting and shout out and raise ruckus. Am I screwed? And I don't think it would be right for me to attend a meeting of a congressperson who don't represent me.

Maybe I'll just call a talkshow.

**Cash for clunkers. Again I'm on the wrong side of this issue. I have four clunkers all total. They run just fine (Thanks to Al Archard Tire in El Cajon) and I've no interest in a new car. But I like the fact that folks are lining up to buy new cars and that dealers are suddenly overwhelmed with buyers and U.S. car companies are having to ramp up production (JOBS) and the financial bloodlines have unclogged. And I'm happy that federal dollars are getting zipped into the economy at warp speed and the cash is getting to real folks rather than banks and finance groups.

Yea I know its gummint again. My tax dollars helping some bum buy a car. And all the car companies are owned by the gummint. Actually were I in the market (read: if I could afford even with the CFC loot) I'd buy a new Camaro. I know it's a GM product and GM is owned by the gummint but what I'd tell myself is that I'm an owner of GM. My tax dollars have been invested and I'll likely realize a return plus interest. (Is Rush still doing ads for GM?)

**Got behind a work truck hauling a trailer full of construction equipment one day this week. Big burly guy had a bunch of bumper stickers on his back bumper. One read something about reporting his driving by calling 1-800-Eat Poop (he used the other word) and another read about 911 being an inside job.

A lot of time you really can't tell who the serial killers are. Many look a lot like us, but sometimes they hide in plain sight. Burp.

**Upstate New York has to be a really tough place to be a cop. There is a Dunkin' Donuts shop on nearly every corner and in every strip mall. And you don't have to be a sworn officer to succumb. I must have bought half a dozen dozen boxes of donuts in the short week we were in Hudson Falls and environs. I made like I was buying them for my relatives but I pushed down two a day everyday.

**A reminder: You can still help the family of slain Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas:

Donations for the Rosas family should be sent to Rosie Rosas, C/O: Sheriff Jay, P.O. Box 2115, La Mesa, CA, 91943. Also checks should be made out directly to Rosie Rosas.

** Emails, we get emails:

Hi Jimmy,

You know I love to get your take on life. I think you are a real renaissance man in so many ways. I might not agree with you politically on everything but you make me think and give ponder to rational decisions. Mostly I know you love your fellow man, underneath that tough exterior.

So, I want to get your take on this in an upcoming Gazette, if you care to elaborate. I get the feeling you don't have a high regard for the ranting of the World Net Daily crowd. Personally, I am very concerned....

Stuck somewhere not far Michelle's garden,

Julia

Jimmy:

Having fun in Montana. Wish you had a job.
