ComputorEdge publishes its first issue without a hard copy version for the first time ever.

Clear Channel was sold to Bain Capital and Thomas H. Lee Partners.

Free Radio San Diego returned to the air on 93.7 FM for a short period.

KFMB-DT moved to channel 7 until Feb 17, 2009.

XLNC1 moved from 90.7 to 104.9 FM.

The FCC cancels AM 890 in Julian's request to build a transmitter.

KPRI 102.1 moved its transmitter to Mount Soledad.

105.7 FM switched from a simulcast of XX Sports 1090 to The Walrus oldies. Calls change to XHPRS-FM.

98.7 in Los Angeles switches to alternative rock.

Radio One sold 100.3 FM to Bonneville, who changed it to The Sound rock. Calls change to KSWD.

XETV loses its Fox affilliation to KSWB, but grudgingly takes the low-rated CW affilliation, and airs 40 percent of the CW's shows in the graveyard shift.

The 91X Morning Show with Mat Diablo and Mahoney takes over the morning slot vacated by Chris Cantore.
