New Holiday on December 4th (Nov 1, 2008)

We have several nominations on what major holiday we can place between Thanksgiving and Christmas days. Here are a few that some of the readers have sent us over the past year.

National Deer Day. We take the day off from hunting deer for the day.

Credit Card Reconcilation Day. Time to pay off all of the credit cards and perpare the Christmas list with whatever cash you have leftover, or else don't spend anything.

Surfboard Retirement Day. It's the ceremonial end of the surfing season and it's the day we hold parties with people helping out each other to put the surfboards into mothballs until next Memorial Day. They can spend the day talking about all of the waves they rode, some near misses (they're hits, gang!), what chicks they impressed and did, and all of that local surf culture jive.

Naked Tree Dressing Day. With the trees losing their leaves and going into Winter naked, let's put some coats on the trees to keep them warm until Spring arrives next year.

Family Fall Day. It's basically the last days of the fall season and before Winter sets in, families and friends spend the day or night together partying.

Pre-Christmas Day. It's for the folks at work or other locations to gather together to celebrate Christmas before they all take a Christmas vacation break to points unknown. It's Christmas Day for people who can't be together on December 25th.

What do you think? Vote and let me know before Tuesday. Then, we'll hype it up for a month until it ends.
