Jimmy Valentine Heads Outta Here! (July 19, 2008)From Jimmy's FLASHFAX: "**Don’t forget your Pride. This is the big weekend in SD City for the annual gathering of the confused gendered. If you live in the city, depart for the weekend. If you live outside the city avoid crossing the city limits. If you have children the warning goes double. In fact they ought to be firing up those road side signs that were meant for Amber Alerts to alert folks to the Pride dangers for children. "Warning, Men in Dresses Ahead, Protect Your Children," or something like that. I’m locking down in the Valley. Gotta protect my goats."Note to Jimmy: Aren't those religious people in the churches wearing something that looks like dresses? I'll take men in dresses over boyish women in spandex pants in a masculine heterosexual fashion. I would go to the Pride parade, but there's no Pink Line trolley that runs into Hillcrest. Remember Home Pride bread? Is that where the Pride in those parades got its name from? Did they think that it was Homo Pride bread or something? Jimmy, when eating cereal, do you ever add ... fruit?
Pride Weekend (Repeat from Jul 21, 2007)It's Roger Hedgecock and Jimmy Valentine's worst weekend of the year in San Diego.Everybody in town is making the rainbow connection in ways Kermit The Frog never imagined. Gay! Gay! Gay! Weekend movies feature gay themes. "Hairspray" and "Chuck and Larry" opened this week. Gay! Gay! Gay! The Pride parade is today. Gay! Gay! Gay! SD City Beat has gone almost all gay. Gay! Gay! Gay! The former DFSX stream is now David's Groove Thing streaming pop dance featuring gay-friendly acts like Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, Communards, George Michael, Dead or Alive, and Culture Club from the Gay-tees (Gay + 80s = Gaytees) streaming. Gay! Gay! Gay! It's more gay than an episode of The Flintstones. (We'll have a gay old time.) Gay! Gay! Gay! Brokeback Mice, a commercial parody of Brokeback Mountain, is featured on a recent edition of David Tanny's podcast of the Mad Music Dementia Top 20 show, in fact, Tanny produced the Brokeback Mice piece. It's no secret that you can sometimes see same-sex mice, gerbils, and other pets doing the Brokeback thing. Gay! Gay! Gay! Everything's gay except Tanny, because he's a lesbian! In fact, he looks like John Belushi doing an impression of Elizabeth Taylor on Saturday Night Live on a bad day. It's a gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, gay world. This weekend in the San Diego outland! Take that, Roger and Jimmy.
