What Do You Want in HD Radio! (7/11 Day, 2008)So HD Radio is basically nothing more than an earsore for DX listeners. It interferes with adjacent and alternate AM channels 10 and 20 kHz and FM channels 0.2 and 0.4 MHz from the HD radio station, sure enough. Tried to get KLOS 95.5 from Los Angeles while you're near Mount Soledad where KUSS 95.7 in HD is broadcasting lately?Aside of interference issues, the programming on the HD2 and HD3 channels remain as inspiring as a looped 8 hour playlist on a live365 channel. At least some of the HD2 and HD3 channels are trying out some ideas, but none of them are unique enough for many people to get excited enough to get a radio. There's also the problem of reception. The digital signals are broadcasting so weak that many people who live more than 10 miles away from the transmitter or are behind an obstruction cannot get the HD radio signals reliably, or at all. Not every station is broadcasting in HD yet. FM 94/9, KIFM, Jack, La Nueva 106.5, and KPRI are a few of the local stations that are not yet broadcasting in HD yet. KSON is broadcasting in HD but with no subchannels. The ones that are broadcasting in HD2 and HD3 are leaving a lot to be desired in terms of programming. Honestly, do we really need new country, rock mashups, and an Dave Shelly Chainsaw channel? Clear Channel isn't doing anything right, except for Pride Radio on 94.1 HD2, and I'm not gay, yet they're labeling this dance pop format as a gay format, which is a mislabel. It's closer to what Q106 used to sound like in the 80s and 90s. Here's the lineup of HD2 and HD3 channels:
93.3-2 - The Hot Spot
Anything interesting? House of Sophie could be 24/7 on the 103.7-1 main channel instead of a subchannel since that's more interesting. Here's how HD2 should be done:
93.3-2 - Q106 pop hits from the 80s and 90s with live deejays.
