KLSD: Go Ahead and Flip Formats! (Aug 27, 2007)Here's what the website of KLSD has posted:"RUMORS ON AIR AMERICA YES, there are rumours flying about KLSD changing format. And while various options are under consideration, we also want the progressive voice to remain heard in San Diego. Stay tuned and we will keep you informed. Thanks for listening and supporting KLSD." KSCF flipped formats because of continuous low ratings. KLSD has having the same problem. They might as well flip formats. Here are the alternatives: http://www.allcomedyradio.com/. All Comedy Radio. This is what I've been asking for in radio for many years. From the website: "All Comedy Radio is a wholly owned entity of All Comedy Networks, a Hollywood based Media Company. All Comedy Radio is the newest concept in American radio, with the world's first 24/7 network with programming exclusively dedicated to the Comedy arts. All Comedy Radio debuted in July, 2003 and feeds radio stations (AM and FM) all over North America and Canada and worldwide on the internet. For the first time, radios (and computers) have a "laugh button!" All Comedy Radio, was founded by four Los Angeles based entertainment entrepreneurs, each with many years of experience in comedy and broadcasting. All Comedy Radio has exclusive network broadcast rights to hundreds of hours of content. All Comedy Radio presents a compelling and unique blend of superstar stand-up, newcomer stand-up, interview segments, parody news, funny phone calls, parody songs and commercials, and other comedic surprises." Furthermore, this signal can easily be simulcasted on an HD2 multicasting signal, so reformatting KLSD to All Comedy Radio, and replacing reruns of Dave, Shelly, and Chainsaw with KLSD All Comedy Radio will give us a reason to purchase an HD radio as well as to finally have an alternative to XM radio's Laugh USA and National Lampoon Radio Another suggestion: Radio Disney. Yes, it bombed when it was on KSON-AM 1240 in the late 90s through 2003 because it was on a weak signal and has limited range. This can also be simulcasted on an HD2 or HD3 channel on the KHTS 93.3 digital signal. Suggestion #3: Groove Radio. Again, this can be simulcasted on 93.3's HD3 channel. Put some dance music on the AM band! Suggestion #4: LSD-AM. CBS had Free-FM, so how about LSD-AM. Take a trip with talkers people really want to hear. Bring back Tom Leykis into the afternoon shift and run the show from 3-8pm like KLSX in Los Angeles does. The last hour is probably a replay of the 3-4pm hour I guess. By the way, KLSD and KLSX share the first three letters in their call letters! Have Bob and Tom start off the morning from 3-6am live, then on tape from 6-10am after being delayed three hours. Then have Dave and Jeff follow for two hours, then at noon for three hours, have Stacy Taylor on when he can start his show with KLSD reaching all of North County. Follow it with Leykis, then at 8pm, run All Comedy Radio all night long. Sports can run anytime when warranted. Suggestion #5: The last suggestion for 1360 to reformat to: Goodtime Oldies! Play the rock and R&B hits from the 50s, 60s, and 70s all day long. Bring the best of Boss Radio back to 1360 and rebrand the call letters to KGB-AM. 136 KGB! I say. Reformat 1360!
