Chargers Football Schedule (Aug 9, 2007)The San Diego Chargers pre-season gets underway this Sunday night (8/12) nationwide on NBC-TV at 5pm where they will be battling the Seattle Seahawks.Then on Saturday the 18th, they will be at the St. Louis Rams. CBS-TV (not just KFMB) will be carrying the game to a nationwide audience at 5pm. The last two games will air on KFMB-TV 8 where the Chargers will be at the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday the 25th at 7pm. Then on Thursday the 30th, they will return home for the final pre-season game as they will battle the San Francisco 49ers. The Bolts’ preseason television coverage has increased as well with a total of seven stations signed up to carry the final two games of the preseason slate. KFMB-TV (Channel 8) in San Diego will serve as the primary carrier of Chargers preseason football. Ron Pitts will call the play-by-play and Billy Ray Smith will handle the color commentary. The Chargers preseason games also will be carried in Spanish on local television for the third consecutive season on Mi San Diego (Channel 43) with Adrian Garcia, calling the play-by-play and Benny Ricardo providing the analysis. Joining KFMB and Mi San Diego channel 43 in the broadcast of the preseason games are KCBS-TV (Channel 2) in Los Angeles and Orange County; KMIR-TV (Channel 6) in Palm Springs; KYMA (Channel 11) in the Imperial Valley and Yuma, Arizona; KLAS-TV (Channel 8) in Las Vegas and the NFL Network. All of these stations will carry the team’s Aug. 25 preseason game at Arizona and its Aug. 30 game against San Francisco. The 49ers game will be subject to local blackout rules for all stations except KYMA and KLAS, which both lie outside of the NFL’s 75-mile radius rule that affects local television blackouts. The team’s Aug. 12 game vs. Seattle (NBC) and Aug. 18 game at St. Louis (CBS) will both be broadcast on national TV. The San Diego Chargers television lineup in 2007 features plenty of prime-time coverage as the Bolts will again be the focus of NBC 7/39’s Football Night in San Diego. The show kicks off with a special presentation following this Sunday night’s Chargers-Seahawks game on NBC and then resumes each Sunday night during the regular season following NBC’s weekly prime-time Sunday Night Football game. NBC 7/39 sports anchors Jim Laslavic and Jim Stone will host Football Night in San Diego. The show will feature extensive Chargers highlights, player interviews and a recap of that day’s game, as well as several interactive elements in which viewers can participate. The Chargers Power Report begins its fifth season on XETV (FOX 6). The Power Report will air each Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. and will be hosted by Fox 6 Sports Director C.S. Keys and former Chargers linebacker Billy Ray Smith. Fox 6’s Andrea Nakano also will host a series of one-on-one interviews.
