San Diego Comments on Sophie (Jun 28, 2007)

Ivan Pacheco: The one thing that made this station stand out was that it informed people like me who hate watching the news about what was happening arround the world as well as locally in an intertaining man. now you change it in to Sophie what the hell is that??? its just random music with no aparent genre. I am very upset about this and would ver ymuch like you to bring the station back to its original programing. If you want to change it a little bit thats fine but don't take it out all together.

Scott Register: Bring back Dave and Jeff! That was bogus how the entire station was just shut off like a light switch with no warning. And for what? Bad music to be played by a computer so cost could be cut. Shame on you CBS.

Tad: big mistake taking this station off the air. it provided irreplaceable entertainment for many of us throughout the day...and not one of your "former" listeners will listen to the substandard replacement garbage that is now on the air.

Anthony K: Gotta bring back Tom... the new format on the former Free FM station is horible. Who in their right mind would want to listen to a computer operatec "jack FM" rip off with a teenie bopper female oriented program schedule. The program director is a moron for choosing a set up where the station has to compete with 20 other identical stations in San Diego. i guarantee better ratings from the male demographic oriented free fm schedule which is a style of entertainment only available on that said channel. (Ie. no competition of any kind with any other station in SD.

Victor Phuong: It's an atrocity that the Tom Leykis Show has been removed from Free FM 103.7 in San Diego. His show makes my ride home more enjoyable. Radio Sophie sucks.

Howard Rind: Not only I am extremely dissapointed in the loss of the Adam Carolla and Tom Leykis show from San Diego\'s 103.7, but to make matters worse, the new music format is horrible. Please bring back TOM and Adam!! Until you do so, I will never listen to 103.7 (Sophie radio).

Anonymous: Radio station 103.7 in San Diego has changed its format several times without saying anything to its listeners and this time was no different. However, this time I have permanently switched to a competitor station. 103.7 had 2 good formats going daily - Tom Leykis and Adam Carolla in the a.m. Obviously, the listening population, and I could probably guarantee there was an abundance will no longer listen to KSCF 103.7 any longer either. It was a very sad decision on behalf of this San Diego station.

Rick Lovdahl: I was VERY disappointed to find out about the format change for 103.7 FM. I was a regular listener to several of the talk-format programs, Tom Leykis in particular, but will not be a listener to the present oldies programming. Anonymous: Hello. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back Free FM. I do not like Radio Sophie. There are plenty of stations that play the music being played on Radio Sophie. I really miss Adam Corolla, Dave & Jeff, and Tom Leykis.

Todd Warnberg: My F.U of the YEAR goes to the people that took Dave and Jeff off the radio. I am one of many people at my work who listen to Dave And Jeff...Oh and I work at SDGE..So you know its a big group of people..Please bring them back!

B. Alan DeGuzman: The music on 103.7 is terrible and should be switched back to Free FM. Listening to Adam Carrolla in the morning and Tom Leykis after a hard day's work helps to ease the stress in my life. Bluntly honest people such as them is an entertaining, great and refreshing change of pace compared to the dellusions of political correctness experienced in everyday life. Bring back Free FM!

Donald Patten: Hello, this is the first time I'm writing a protest to a radio station, so hopefully that will add further importance to my voice. 103.7 Free FM was my favorite radio station ever since it came on the air. It provided us here in san diego a very unique and entertaining radio station that was differant than anything else out there, including what's offered on satellite radio as well. It was truly one of a kind, and I want to tell you how dissapointed I am that CBS Radio decided to change the station to a totally generic "Same as everything else out there" radio station that I have no interest in listening to. At least take a lesson from 100.7 Jack FM that plays great music that everybody I talk to thinks is awesome. I have no interest in listening to 103.7 in its current format of playing music, and truly wish CBS Radio would reconsider putting the talk radio back on 103.7 the same way that it was. I really really am upset that I can longer hear the Tom Leykis show in particular. If I could, I'd bring my computer in my car just so that I could hear his show through the internet since that is the only way I can hear him now. Anonymous: During my daily 120 mile (roundtrip) commute I relied on San Diego's Free FM as a source of entertainment, inspiration and it actually assisted in keeping me AWAKE. Please explain some of the factors in the decision to change the stations format from the testoterone balls out entertainment to the soft sounds of "Sophie"???

Hank: I have been listening to Radio Sophie since it came on and BOY DOES IT SUCK!!!!! The DJ's "Um" their way through hours of directionless rambling and splatter in poor choices in music. Are these high school kids volunteering? Now this may make me sound like a Dennis Miller Tom supporter, but in fact I don't agree with the majority of what they are saying, but I support their right to say what they think and challenge those with opposing viewpoint so actually explore other belief systems. Radio Sophie does none of this. They are more bland than vanilla, than air, than water. RADIO SOPHIE IS TERRBLE!!!!
