Britney Gets Billboards Removed (Jun 20, 2007)

Britney Spears is getting some press in the radio news websites.

No, she's not shaving anything else bald, or putting out bad records.

This time, she's getting a message sent to Clear Channel to stop picking on her, with the help of her legal team.

In Tampa, Florida, radio station billboards sponsored by Clear Channel radio outlet WFLZ 93.3 were taken down after her lawyers threatened legal action against the station.

The billboards depicted a bald Spears to plug the station's unfunny morning show called "The MJ Morning Show". With Spears is a show host Todd Schnitt with the captions on the three different billboards: "Total Nut Jobs", "Certifiable," and "Shock Therapy."

Spears's attorneys accused Clear Channel of offensive and exploitation of Spears for commercial gain and demanded that they take down the billboards with her image on it or have legal action taken against the company.

On Tuesday, Clear Channel confirmed to the press that the billboards in question have been taken down.

The Smoking Gun website has the complete article as well as the photos of the three billboards in question, plus the letter her lawyers sent to Clear Channel.

Britney sure got...um...BALDistic over the incident.

San Diegans are familiar with WFLZ 93.3, which ran on the frequency of 93.3 in El Cajon in the spring and summer of 1996 just after Jacor purchased the FM station from the owners of KECR 910, which is a Family Radio religious affilliate.
