91X Newsletter (May 25, 2006)

Ok, I am a little dizzy. My head is spinning because SO many great bands are coming to SD soon!

Let's start with tonight (Thursday) - it's 91X's NEXT BIG THING 5! For only 91 cents, you get to see MC LARS, The Matches, and 2 other bands! It's all ages, and it's at SOMA, which is right next to the Sports Arena (right behind the Black Angus) - doors open at 7pm and it's first come, first served. NICE! Go HERE for more info.

X-Fest XII is getting closer too, and we've got a way for you to get some cheap seats! June 9th at the Coors Amphitheater, 91X and Bud Light present The Cult, Franz Ferdinand, Echo & The Bunnymen, Dashboard Confessional, Panic! At the Disco, She Wants Revenge, The Sounds, plus on the Ressurect Anti-Hangover Elixir Side Stage: Hard Fi, Reeve Oliver, The Stranger's Six, and OKGO!  Take advantage of this cool deal we cooked up with Bud Light while it lasts - get your tickets for $5.00 off AND pay NO service charges! Must be over 21, go HERE for info on the hook up.

...and speaking of huge shows, 91X announced the lineup for Street Scene 2006 this week! Tool, AFI, Social D, Modest Mouse, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and My Chemical Romance, just to name a few... two day passes on-sale now, go HERE for all the gory details.

How does a free, all-inclusive, VIP access trip to Bonnaroo sound? And an iRiver Clix Mp3 player, AND a year's subscription to URGE, MTv's new digital download service with Windows Media Player 11? Better than being hit in the head with a wet noodle, right? All you need to do is shoot me an email request! Go HERE to do it, and thanks for listening at work!

Finally, this week we learned that Ricky Wilson, lead singer of the Kaiser Chiefs was hit by a car last weekend (he's ok, just a broken toe); Panic! At the Disco parted ways with their bass player; Pearl Jam created their first new video in years; I love using a semi-colon; and M.I.A. was recently denied entrance into the U.S. when she was coming over to record her new record with Timberland. For more 91X music news, go HERE.

OK you, have a great looooong weekend. Keep it on 91X, we've got something cool up our sleeves for your listening pleasure that starts Friday on Marco's show!

See you at X-Fest,

Hilary
