91X Newsletter (Apr 20, 2006)

Hey there, kitty-cat!

Jennifer White here, our girl Hilary is off doing...Hilary stuff...so it is my pleasure to let you in on a few things happening at 91X:

Just in case you didn't know (although I totally know that you know), X-Fest XII is on sale now! 91X presents The Cult, Dashboard Confessional, Franz Ferdinand, Panic! At the Disco, Echo & the Bunnymen, She Wants Revenge, HARD-FI, The Sounds, Ok Go, Reeve Oliver, AND The Stranger’s Six...all descending upon Coors Amphitheatre on June 9. Get your tickets now at any Ticketmaster outlet or call 220-TIXS.
X-Fest tickets make lovely Mother's Day gifts, and is there a nicer present for Santa to stuff your Cinco-de-Mayo-stocking with? I didn't think so.

Pearl Jam's new album (what's with the avocado on the cover?) drops on May 2 and they're hitting the road...Mr. Vedder and friends will be in San Diego with Sonic Youth on July 7 at Cox Arena! Tickets go on-sale this Saturday (4/22) at 10:00am and 91X has your first shot at free tickets and the new album (seriously...an avocado?) all this weekend. Listen for blocks of Pearl Jam, when that second song plays be caller 9 to 570-1919 and win.

Perhaps you've noticed that the 91X Independent sticker is magically appearing on cars and windows all over San Diego...thank you so much for showing your support of local Independent radio! Our spotters are on the streets daily looking for you displaying the sticker, and giving away killer 91X prizes like a weekend getaway to Mammoth Mountain for the West Coast Invitational on May 5-6, with 3 nights hotel, 2 days of lift tickets and private party tickets! We’re also dishing out $191 gas cards, tickets to X-Fest XII, Coachella, Warped Tour, and Avenged Sevenfold, and soon we will announce the grand prize winner of the trip to Bonnaroo to see Radiohead, Death Cab for Cutie, Beck and the rest! We’ve got your airfare and tickets for all three days of the festival covered, all you have to do is pack. Get your 91X bumper sticker at any Del Taco in town, and while you're there, grab me a Spicy Jack Quesadilla.

Next Thursday (4/27), 91X, Fox 6, and the House of Blues are teaming up for Children’s Hospital with “Le Belle et La Bad Boy,” a fashion show and concert to benefit the Hematology/Oncology Unit at Children’s. We’re bringing out some of San Diego’s best local bands to play: Transfer, Cash’d Out, Emery Byrd, and Kyle Phelan. Tickets are only $20 and every penny goes to the HEM/ONC Unit to help some really great kids. You can buy tickets now HERE with PayPal, or night of the concert at the door at House of Blues. We want to help sell this show out, so if you buy tickets in advance, bring the ticket or receipt to the 91X studios and we'll let you pick a prize: free lunch from Rubios, FOX ROX live DVD/CD, or a super-cool official 91X t-shirt. Click HERE or e-mail us for more information on tickets or how you can help.

Loving YOU,

91X
