SO! It’s been about 6 months now that 91X has been “cut loose from the corporate noose,” as Ben Harper so aptly put it when he called in last week. We appreciate every call and email and love your continued support and suggestions about how we can continue to make our little San Diego station better again. One of the things we’ve been waiting on is finally here, and it celebrates not only 91X’s 23 year history in this town but our newfound independence and local ownership: the infamous 91X bumper sticker! This new edition proudly waves the flag of freedom from corporate radio and we would be honored if you would show your support by putting one on your car, your laptop, your guitar case, even your shinguards. Wherever! It means the world to us for you to rock one of our stickers, and it feels great that it represents something we can all be proud of again. 91X is back! Earlier this morning, Chris Cantore and Jennifer White announced the return of the 91X Punk Rock Pro Am! Are you ready? The Pro Am this year is taking over Steele Canyon Golf Club on Friday, April 14, & some of the fellas already confirmed are becoming PRPA regulars: members of Bad Religion, Unwritten Law, Linkin Park , Long Beach Dub All Stars, with more to be announced.  If you want to play, individual spots will go on-sale next Wednesday, April 5 at 8:00am at the 91X studios, and the on-line auction to play with the bands kicks off that day too.  More details here, big props to our sponsors: Wahoos Fish Tacos, Budweiser, and Jagermeister.
