Stories San Diego Radio News Doesn't Do... (July 13, 2005)Church announcements, crime busts, rent eviction, free corporate plugs, implied mayoral endorsements (without paying me for the privilege, of course), drugs, strip joints, mother nature hissy fits, magazine launches not related to issues covered.Uh, please read the title of the website. It's San Diego Radio News dot com. We do stories about radio and related stuff about radio. We also do stories on dance and funny music charts, wires about radio stories, press releases about radio's changing landscape, Internet and satellite radio, wireless Internet issues (so we can get closer to listening to wireless Internet radio in our cars someday), and other stories like it. Thank you for your understanding. Now go bother the Union-Buffoon as they're better suited for issues that don't interest me or my readers.
The Wires (July 13, 2005)Here are some examples on what kinds of stories SDN is seeking. Please keep that in mind as you send in radio stories that fit the format of this website.Third-party stories are copyrighted by their respective owners. SDN has no affillition with these stories. Marketwatch: Disney to spinoff stations to shareholders tax-free? Rick Bird: three unknown stations seek names. DJD: creator of Charlie the Tuna and Morris the Cat passes away. FMQB: Live 8 Success to Launch New Era of Broadcasting RadioInk: Doc Claims Slander, Sues Don Imus FMQB: 18-24 Year Olds Most Influenced by New Media FMQB: Air America Becomes XM Radio Exclusive...loses Sirius as an affilliate effective this week. Letters (July 13, 2005)We get letters! Here's one from Okumba Darkbear.
Hey There,
I was doing a search for my station K-Bear and seen that you included me in
one of your stories on SDNnews.
Thanks for the mention.
Anyways, That helped me find your station DFSX and I just had to say,
THIS IS GREAT!!!
I Used to listen to Dr.Demento when I was young, Im 40 now.
that was back when I lived in Cleveland,Ohio
This really keeps you laughing.
We have a "Comedy" am station here in Phoenix, Arizona
but your station is better.
How do you like "Live365?
I did that back in 2002 , but they had all kinds of problems.
It seems you broadcast is stable, Live365 sure does like to butt in a lot and advertise themselfs though.
Back in 2002, they would interrupt songs, it seems they got that problem fixed.
Well, Im going to bookmark your station.
Keep doing what your doing, its Great.

Dance Top 10 (July 13-19, 2005)Once again, it's time to make our weekly visit to a Top 10 chart George Varga and Buddy Blue never bother to report in the U-T paper. It's the Tuned In Radio Dance Top 10 of the Week.
1.. Till There Was You - Rachael Starr Instead of this, we get weekly top 10 reports on outdated genres such as corporate hip hop and so-called alternative rock. What happened to the days when these genres were innovative in the 80s? Top 40 started playing them, and they began towards to shift into a current sound of watered-down corporate predictability. Which could be why dance music is the last bastion of musical genres of today because, well, Top 40 doesn't play any of the songs on this list. Bring back the 80s hip-pop synth dance days of Power 106 circa 1986-89. This is why there are 20GB HDD portable music devices that can play 13,000 songs in Fry's Electronics today. |
