Dr. La Mar Hasbrouck is the People's Doctor, Friday mornings at 8am.
La Mar Hasbrouck, M.D., M.P.H., was born and raised in Southeastern San Diego, CA and now resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. La Mar is a board-certified medical Internist (Adult Doctor). He is a former "Disease Detective" with the nation's premier public health agency, and consultant with the World Health Organization. His health contributions span the Caribbean, South America, Asia, and most recently Africa where he visits six times a year helping to fight the global AIDS epidemic.
Dr. La Mar currently holds clinical appointments at both Morehouse School of Medicine and Emory University School of Medicine. He has given national and international presentations on health topics from stroke to SARS and has presented and/or published papers at major health meetings or in health journals on various subjects, including violence, health disparities, and heart disease.
Dr. La Mar specializes in the art of translating medical jargon into understandable health messages for lay audiences. He has appeared on local news broadcasts, National Public Radio, and is a regular morning show guest on Radio One's WAMJ 102.5 FM in Atlanta. He can be heard monthly on "Health Matters with Dr. La Mar" on WRFG 89.3 FM in Atlanta.

Sat Jul 9 American Red Cross "Beach Bash" Blood Drive
The American Red Cross is holding a "Beach Bash" Blood Drive Saturday July 9th at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas. It's hosted by the students at La Costa Canyon High School.
There's a blood shortage and you can help by donating blood. Everyone who comes to give blood will get a beach bash t-shirt, free admission to Knott's Soak City and coupons for free food from Papa John's and Chili's.
Also, we will be on site from Noon - 1:30pm. For all those who come down and donate blood while we are there, can have thier choice of tickets to any FM94/9 concert event happening in the month of july or any other great station prizes..while supplies last!!

Smooth Jazz 98.1 is bringing you the concert of the summer! Get ready for "Jazz at the Beach" starring Boney James and special guests, Nova Menco. The show takes place Sunday, August 14th at the Oceanside Pier Amphitheater. Doors open at 2:30 PM, music begins at 4:00 PM.

The Oceanside Pier Plaza Amphitheater is located at the foot of Oceanside's historic pier - affording concert-goers a splendid view of the sand, Pacific surf and setting sun. First constructed in 1888, the pier is now 1,954 feet long, making it the longest wooden over-water pier on the West Coast.
