SOSD.com: KPRI 102.1 Still Independent Radio

SC Ruling: Cable Companies Don't Have To Open Up High-Speed Internet.

SDRadio.net®. Chris Carmichael has hunted down the secret websites for the Podcast pages on several Clear Channel websites, but IMHO, the content is nowhere near as interesting as the Manic Monday Podcasts by Tom Rockwell of Sudden Death (and coming soon, Podcasts by David Tanny.) Read what he has dug up Right Here!

RadioandRecords: Hurban on Three More Stations! Yikes, first Jack, now this crap format is also sweeping the nation? Is this one of the Biblical signs of the Armageddon? More garbage formats for people with no more than a public high school diploma.

Attack of XHBCE-FM (June 29, 2005)

Many sources are reporting on the attack on the Baja flame thrower on 105.7 FM, and the latest salvo is coming from a longtime station in Hemet, KXRS, also on 105.7, plagued with co-channel intereference 100 miles to the north of the XHBCE transmitter. Lazer Broadcasting owns the KXRS station, but it joins another station in the fight, KPWR 105.9, an Emmis Broadcasting station, in the fight to oppose the request of U.S.-based Quetzal Billingual Communicatoins Inc. for an extension to deliver programming and marketing to XHBCE-FM after June 30, 2005. KPWR, although 130 miles north of XHBCE, is apparently complaining that it causes severe adjacent-channel interference from the powerful Mexican transmitter. They're arguing that XHBCE's transmitter and power is higher than authorized by Mexico, as well as broadcasting from an unauthorized site. Readers from South County complained to me for months that this Baja station has made KPWR unlistenable as the signal from XHBCE leaks into 105.9. Tuned in Dance (June 29, 2005)

Once again, it's time to report the top ten non-demented hits of the week that matter, as long as it's fun to hear, unlike those heard on the excitement-impaired Channel 933. It's the Tuned In Dance Chart.

Top 10 June 29 - July 5, 2005 Show 713

1. Owner Of A Lonely Heart - Max Graham vs. Yes
2. Till There Was You - Rachael Starr
3. Waterman - Olav Basoski
4. Sound Of The Drum - Suzanne Palmer
5. Jerk It Out (Remix) - Caesars
6. I Don't Know - Dam Sweet
7. Jetstream (Remix) - New Order
8. Crucial - K-OS
9. Alone Without You - Groove-State
10. First Day (Remix) - Timo Mass

Some dance hits we're looking forward to hearing on the radio are reported by Robert Moore in a dance forum at radio-info.com. Some of his picks that could become hits are:

Milky, "Be My World". I have to say its nice to see the Egyptian Dance diva back on the scene with a excellent follow up to "Just The Way You Are." A great track.

Rockell, "L.O.V.E.". Another winner from the former Robbins Entertainment artist. Her vocals really the track and it delivers. Plus its nice to see Rockell back in top fashion.

Kelly Clarkson, "Behind Those Hazel Eyes". I just heard this track on WKTU/New York and I have to say this one is good. Another top 10 Dance radio pick.

Alex Giardino Presents Live Love, "Live Love". It looks like the Italian producer who gave us "Destination Unknown" featuring Crystal Waters has returned with excellent followup, this time retooling Coldcut Featuring Lisa Stansfield's 1989 club classic "People Hold On."

Daft Punk, "Technologic". The best track off "Human After All." The vocals are crazy and wild.

Lenny Bertoldo Featuring Kristy Kay, "I Touch Myself". Lenny B and KK should get props for pulling off this remake of The Diviynls 1990 hit.

Shakira Featuring Alejandro Sanz, "La Tortura". Another track that could pick up steam at Dance radio.

GTS Featuring Norma Jean(Wright) & Luci M(artin), "Le Freak". Yes its the Chic remake....but if the voices of those two ladies sound familiar you'll swear its deja vu because they also sang on the 1978 original.

It's too bad that San Diego radio continues to limp along with bad urban, CHR, and Hot AC stations run by Clear Channel, serving small niches of people with only a public school education and not knowing any better, thanks to the ignorant instructors at junior and high schools countywide. If you're listening to radio or reading the Useless Buffoon newspaper to educate yourself on today's new music, then you're learning basically nothing of paramount importance as far as pop music is concerned. Dance music has wide appeal, especially to mature white music fans. Urban, CHR, and Hot AC appeal to small niches so small that they might as well call themselves narrowcasting instead of broadcasting.
