ABC News: I'm $99,999.35 short! Woman Sues for 100 grand, as in money, when all she got was a 100 Grand® candy bar by Nestle'®. Note that the deejay announcing the contest did not mention that it was a 100 grand that's the property of Nestle that the callers were trying to win. Norreasha Gill of Lexington, KY, has filed a complaint against Cumulus Media Inc., owner of WKTO-FM due to a breach of contract over winning a joke sound-a-like prize instead of what she was expecting to win. That's all we need. A radio station basing lame contests on Jay Leno's American Idol consolation prize awards. Idiots!

D.T. FM: It's Time Has Come! (June 25, 2005)

With all the press in the trades reporting on the Jack-FM® format-flip of the week story, it's giving me the impression that radio's idea of playing what it wants to play is nothing more than an oldies station removed one generation from its predecessor, playing mostly MOR pop 70s and 80s hits of the day, plus forgettable hits from the 90s and 00s that were introduced mostly by indie-influenced payola, it's time that there is a new revolution in radio for the rest of us, that is, people whose musical tastes are not being served and who don't care to waste a day of their lives listening to the same old songs long past its prime and that don't stand the test of time.

The following idea is not copyrighted by David Tanny and will be donated to the public domain. Anyone can use the format idea I created for the betterment of the listeners, musicians, and radio broadcasters. True satisfaction will be seeing the result from airplay translated into a complete overhaul of the Billboard® Top 40 charts as watered-down alternative, rap, and personality-less pop is supplanted by musicians who use real instruments, can sing, and is completely suitable for all ages, just like 50 years ago.

Genres not covered: non-humorous rap and hip hop, watered-down R&B and smooth jazz, teeny bopper pop, skaterat rock, soft country or rock, awful 70s disco, MOR CHR/Top 40 selections that males don't like hearing, and groups that sound like other groups.
