Anyone know if this low-power station ever plans to return to the air?

What Did Roger Say? (June 2, 2005)

Seventeen minutes into the third hour Wednesday's show, Roger uttered an expletetive that starts with an "S" on his KOGO radio show.

When he was giving chef Brian Malarki (sp?) a free plug on his radio show for his fresh fish business on 4th and J. He mocks him by saying "Brian Malarki! I'm full of s--t!" Roger says that Malarki was Irish for the "s" word he just mentioned. Looks like a $500,000 hit on Roger for that word, unless people don't bother to report him to the FCC about it. Surely, the suits at CCSD know about this by now.

Check out Roger's recorded show archives http://rmarchive.rogerhedgecock.com/ and click on the June 1, 2005 show, and forward the archived show file to 2:10:20 to hear him utter the "S" word.

The Wires - Nationwide (June 2, 2005)

As if anyone needed further proof, the just-ended "Disco Explosion Reunion Weekend" on WNEW (102.7 FM) confirmed that disco music has held up a whole lot longer than its critics hoped and predicted. "You hear a song recorded in 1978 or 1982 and it sounds like today," says Paco, one of the jocks on the original WKTU (Disco 92) + Christine Nagy, formerly of the WHTZ (100.3 FM) Morning Zoo, yesterday joined the morning team at sister station WLTW (106.7 FM) (read more - David Hinckley-NY Daily News)

Beyond the ridiculous flap over alleged Republican efforts to “censor” public broadcasting or “push it to the right,” there’s a bigger question: Do we need government-assisted public broadcasting anymore? (read more - Mort Kondracke-News Tribune)

Fox to Offer Longer Newscasts (June 2, 2005)

Fox News Radio, a service started two years ago offering one-minute newscasts to affiliate stations, announces it's offering longer newscasts to many talk-oriented stations.

Fox's earlier agreement with Clear Channel is scheduled to start this summer, and by August the news service outlets could reach 500 stations nationwide.

Fox News Radio is carried locally on KOGO 600 as of June 1st.

Fox News Chairman/CEO Roger Ailes was on hand this morning for ribbon-cutting ceremonies as the network launched its newly expanded five-minute top-of-the-hour newscasts from FNR's new state-of-the-art radio studios in New York City.

The newly expanded service also includes a one-minute bottom-of-the-hour newscast with additional Fox News Alerts provided throughout the hour as needed.

FNR also reports it will now provide affiliates with live anchored coverage of breaking news stories and unanchored feeds of news events as warranted.

Today also marked the addition of another 60 stations to the network, bringing FNR's total to a reported 300+ news affiliates nationwide. Some of today's new affiliates are Clear Channel radio stations as part of a previously announced deal between CC and Fox to have FNR be the network news supplier for all CC News/Talk outlets.
