THESE ARE VERY EXCITING TIMES IN SAN DIEGO!!
(even usWE’RE NOT LEGAL RESIDENT OF SD City proper. We’re forced to live way east
in a valley. But we get radio and TV and keep up with events in Finest
City. You folks have way too much fun. Your Mayor should never have been
Mayor (first he’s a guy and your city likes having womens mayors). Not cut
for the job. Then you got this council composed of three sets of three
stooges. Three of whom hung out at strip joints and consorted with Vegas
mob guys. You got a lady surfer who has been held over way too long from
the 60’s. Another guy helped set up a computer outfit that stole operating
ideas from Enron. And all this before you get to pensions and union deals
and back bonding to make a ballpark for a baseball team. Way fun as the
kids say.

WE HATE TO SAY IT…but check back in your flash fax archives a year or
more. Did we rant on how well gummint employees get treated…and not just
in Finest City. Folks who would dicker with the clerk at the checkout
counter over the price of a can of beans don’t worry squat about public
employees knocking down great wages, pensions, health care and having jobs
for the full extent of their working lives without fear of accountability.

Your fire guys can’t fight fires (don’t know how to for starters), your
cops threaten to leave city defenseless when Raiders come to town, your
water folks can’t keep poop in the pipe, y’all hate the Boy Scouts and
Veteran’s Memorials. Seems the only thing you do right west of the I-15 is
hold parades. You got a lot of “pride” for a town that don’t have much to
brag about.

ANYWAY YOU SHORE ARE FUN TO WATCH…and it’s gonna get better in the next
few installments of this reality show. The showdown at OK Corral. The
unions vs. the good ole boys. Guns get drawn on July 26th. Jerry Sanders
is a former cop so he’s good with guns. But does he have the money? Donna
Frye likely don’t know which end of the gun to hold and point but her
union bros are contract killers. Myke Shelby will provide some sideline
color. Carl DeMaio is a little green behind the ears but he’s got enough
money to buy a big gun. Steve Francis spent some time in Vegas so he
likely has both a big gun and knows how to use it. Steve who?

I live just down the road from Sycuan Indian Casino but I don’t gamble. So
I’m no good at wagering. But I’d put a quarter down on Jerry Sanders.
Folks still like cops. He got organized (several pros on staff already)
before he took out his running papers. He emails press on a daily basis.
He press conferences and is coming up with ideas. He led a big op at the
cop shop in SD so he knows leadership and how to smooze unions and
political types. And from what we hear he supports saving Our Cross.
Symbolically he’d be seen as the “new sheriff in town.” But then this is
all from a guy who can’t vote in city and is clueless when it comes to
politics.

Then again you folks ain’t known as real smart voters. You may just be
smitten with Donna Frye and that surfer San Diego image. Y’all are gonna
continue to be fun to watch. I’ve laid in a big store of popcorn and I’m
not gonna miss one episode of this show.

MUTTERINGS

**BOARD MEETINGS…we tend to shy away from anything resembling a meeting.
ROGER taught us that. A 20 second chat in the hallway is about as long a
meeting as we’re likely to attend. But we’re planning an event to honor
the volunteers of Homefront San Diego at the palatial doublewide estate
out here in Dehesa and there’s a whole lot of meeting required.

We want to roast a whole hog for the event. The guy who does that best in
our neck of the woods is Phil. So we had to meet with Phil last Saturday
out in Boulevard and discuss pig cookin’. We met at the Acorn Casino bar
and had a couple of beers. Meeting lasted about an hour.

Now we have to attend a weekly board meeting. The first of those meetings
took place last evening at the Flinn Springs Inn. We had to meet and drink
beer to talk about pig cookin’, beef and chicken cookin’. Where are we
getting the roaster from (the VFW) and where do we get a rotating grill
(from Del). We’ll have to meet next Wednesday evening as well (seems Phil
has a weekly Board meeting at the Flinn) to talk about who makes the
coleslaw and the potato salad. More beer. And we have to meet and drink
beer again the following Wednesday, right up til the even in mid-June.

I may change my mind about meetings.

**SPEAKING OF BARS…can you legally be barred from a bar for life? Doesn’t
that violate some kind of constitutional protection. Right to assemble or
something?

**HUMAN EVENTS MAGAZINE is a pretty serious journal. Lots of conservatives
read it. We culled an item from a recent edition but I’m not sure it every
got on the radio (maybe it did). The item notes that after several
billboards were put up by a Spanish language TV station in LA saying that
Los Angeles is not in Ca but in Mexico there was great outrage. American
folks got all upset.

But the magazine also noted that there was widespread panic in the streets
of LA because of the Los Angeles, Mexico billboards. Thousands upon
thousands of illegals got scared. They took the billboard serious. They
had spent a lot of money and time and effort to break into America and get
to LA, only to find that they were still in Mexico. Panic struck and the
illegals lit out for parts north. If LA is Mexico then America must be
someplace up near Oregon. Story is too fun: we post it here for your
further enjoyment:

HOMEFRONT SAN DIEGO…our continuing commitment to our military families as
their Warriors are deployed in the war against Islamic killers.
866-424-9467.

In recent days we were able to get base housing for a military wife who
was living in her car. Yes, living in her car. She had come out to be with
her husband in the Marines. He’s set to deploy shortly. He lived in the
barracks and they couldn’t get housing. We raised cain and they are both
in housing.

A hungry family needed food. The choice was eat or pay the phone bill and
the Warrior didn’t dare have his phone disconnected because his CO would
have gigged him big time. They paid the phone bill. We gave the family 200
dollars worth of Costco gift certificates. (we also gave them a bunch of
baby food that we had stored in ROGER’S office.)

Yesterday we got a call from a military wife whose water had been cut off.
We’ll get it running again.

A bit ago we paid for the funeral for a Warrior killed in combat.

And just this week we bought a couple of those blackberry or blueberry
things so that wounded Warriors can keep track of their medical
appointments.

Wonder why we’re roasting a pig and tossing a bash for our Homefront San
Diego volunteers?

By the way I need stuff for the volunteers. I’d like some gift
certificates to Ruth Chris, Donovans, Flemings. I’d like several gasoline
gift cards (these folks spend their own money on transport to do the work
of helping our families). I’d like some Macy’s or other ladies clothing
places gift cards. I ain’t a womens so I don’l know real well what womens
like. But I need it!! We’ll give the gifts to the volunteers at our
tribute event. I’ve got nine womens and one man.

Send to me please: Jimmy Valentine/KOGO Radio, 9660 Granite Ridge Drive,
San Diego, Ca 92123.
