Other forces (John & Ken group from KFI/LA) arrive on Sunday. The first major assault is scheduled for Monday morning April 25th in the park at the White House. We gather there, several hundred strong, toinvite the Commander-In-Chief to make good on his promise to “enforce the border.” Our forces have a legal permit to demonstrate in the park. Signs and banners have been prepared (one reads “deport Rove”), the metro route from our hotels to the park have been mapped and distributed. We board the metro at 8am for muster in the park at 8:30am. We expect to be loud, forceful but respectful. ROGER will be among those who will address the gathering. One message will be sent, a single demand that even a California Public High School grad can understand: Secure Our Borders.” Once we have completed this mission our assault on the Hill begins. Some 400 American Citizens who have paid their way to D.C. will citizen-lobby. Over the course of the three day campaign we will visit the office of every member of the House and Senate to demand Secure Borders. We’ll keep you posted daily (we hope) on our progress and tell some stories along the way. Watch this space!! MUTTERINGS **LET’S SEE…I can carry as many matches as I’d like on an aircraft, but not one Bic or Zippo. There is a place where that makes sense? I left the collector Zippo at home. And I find that matches are dangerous as heck. When you strike them sparks fly. The older the book of matches gets (like down to the last 5 or 6) the harder you have to rub the match against the scratcher to make fire and the more sparks fly. I’ve got hand burns for cryin’ out loud. First thing I did was buy a cheap flicker bicker in D.C. I was starting to look like a war protester who failed in an attempt to set himself on fire…yeeech!! And when I get to the airport, outbound on Thursday morning, I’m gonna do what a lady in San Diego did when she was outbound from San Diego on Friday. She approached a smoker who had just gotten off a flight and was puffing outside the terminal and asked if she could give him her Bic. She didn’t want to throw it away and didn’t want it to go to the gummint. So she gave it to the smoker who naturally didn’t have a lighter cause he’d just gotten off an aeroplane. Burp!! This idea may catch on, yes? AND THE PONDER SETS IN…The gummint now has several hundred thousand lighters. How will they dispose of them? Create a toxic landfill? Dump them in San Diego Bay. Heck, they are from the gummint…they do with them as they damn well please. Burp X 2. Now shut up citizen!! ***GETTING SO WE’RE DOING ALL THE WORK…GWB and folks up here won’t Secure Our Borders, so the Minutemen have to leave their homes and trek to Arizona to shut down the flood there. Hundreds more citizens join our effort this week in D.C. Leaving homes and jobs to knock folks on the head in the nations capital. In California we’re doing all the legislation by citizen initiative and public referenda. Since we’re doing all the work can we lose like half of the gummint payroll and give us a major tax break. Help defray the airfare, hotel cost and expense of living in the desert. Just a thought. **WEATHER IN D.C. ain’t bad. Spring chilly. A thunder storm just made noise and wet outside the George Hotel where we are staying. But it’s that nice spring rain that freshens and cleanses. We’re hoping for severe clear on Monday morning for our White House demonstration. We guess the WH is praying for rain. **OUR TIMING IS PERFECT…The Senate has just passed the terror war money bill and set the scene for a face off between House and Senate versions over immigration reform. The Minutemen are wrapping up their month long sojourn in the Arizona desert, and many of them will join us in D.C. as we press our effort to Secure Our Borders. There has not been a better time in years to press our case. America is listening. America knows our borders are unprotected and that means suicide as we face an enemy that strikes America from within. We have high hopes as we prepare to launch Hold Their Feet To The Fire XI. We hope you’ll join us on the radio each day. And we hope you’ll support our efforts by lobbying at home. Call lawmakers (especially Senators). Call Bob Filner and Susan Davis. Be our massive reinforcements.
