Final Thoughts about Jack FM 100.7 (April 14, 2005)

From Jenn: Jack FM sucks big time. I hate the music! Bring Jeff and Jer back.

From James Ward: Jack sucks and Jeff and Jer ain't so hot either! Lets all just admit it... this Jack radio really bites. Its like so many other classic rock/80's stations out there. That music can be heard on about 6 or 7 other stations in San Diego at any given time. What San Diego needs (because we aren't some small town anymore) is a station that consistantly has current music. Stuff from the 90's to today. The whole 80's thing is OLD. That stuff is gonna be classic rock in a few years. Now the only poor excuse for a station that plays today's music is 94.1 (which plays WAAAAAAAAAAY to much 80's) or Channel 933 (which plays WAAAAAAAAAAAY to much R & B). If anyone can remember Q106 or KS103 or The Mighty 690, when they played popular songs at the time, those stations ruled! And can we all admit another thing? Jeff and Jerr SUCK. No, they really do. Their act is so tired now. And anyone who was around during the shift back and forth from B100 to Q106 to Star 100 saw the ugly side of them. OK, the Big Bad Q tooks some shots at them, but thats only because I think they got screwed by those two ego maniacs. Lets get a station in town that LISTENS to San Diego, that REFLECTS San Diego and plays music that is being made THIS year.

From Elan: San Diego is corporate radio hell. Nothing but cookie cutter concepts taken from other markets. We lost The Flash, Premium 92.1, the old 95.9 KKOS, and now Star is gone. What's left? Nothing but corporate-sounding 50,000 watt iPod machines playing nothing but old or teen bopper songs. Not for me. My iPod plays none of the crap Jack or Channel plays. We need a station that plays today's songs I can listen to, not the old stuff again and again. Jack don't know jack about San Diego.

From Allan: Why is Midwest Television from out of nowhere running its sole properity in San Diego? Shouldn't somebody local be owning and running the KFMB clusterf--k from San Diego instead from someplace 2,000 miles away?

From Larry Winters: Jack FM isn't like MY iPod on shuffle. What a crock! If it was, it wouldn't be playing crap I'm tired of hearing. That's why I got an iPod so I can listen to my alternate country and southern folk favorites. 100.7 should have gone KPIG and give me a reason to ditch my iPod. Screw you, Jack.

From Ben: My iPod is on shuffle, but it sounds nothing even close to Jack. I enjoy the dance tunes that's sorely lacking on San Diego radio, truly a culture-less city full of corporate sameness and low-life rappers from skid row. There's no way I would ever consider returning to listening to local radio unless we finally get a dance station on here. Tracy Johnson of Jack sounds like a sorehead who's been in radio too long and has forgotten how to program for people like myself who left radio for satellite and Internet where dance music stations are flourishing, yet nobody is doing anything about getting dance radio in San Diego. America's Finest City my ass! No wonder San Diego is broke! Nobody wants to move to a city where there's no dance radio here.

From Sherman: Jack is outta here! I'm off to satellite radio. No more San Diego radio for me. Ciao!
