(the ponder) BIG MIKE AGUIRRE calls ROGER yesterday on the radio and allows how he’ll have to gather a bunch of lawyers together on Wednesday (that would be tomorrow) to debate, discuss and give heavy thought to legal matters surrounding Our Cross on Mt. Soledad. Many great minds will gather at city council chambers at 6pm (202c street, if you are in possession of a great mind). We kind of figure this is great. We need to gather great minds. And we do need to cite case law and track back nearly two decades of legal tangles and then at the end say: “What does this all mean?” It’s important to do this!! There will be scholars, practicing barristers, legal thinkers, students and folks who have worn the robes of judicial office. Tables will be heavy with volumes. Attendees will carry loads of documents and case filings. The best and the brightest among us will be seated, taking note of every word. And then when this remarkable gathering of the great legal minds of our time are finished. When the final legal verse has been recited it will amount to NOTHING!! OUR CROSS AIN’T GOING NOWHERE!!…Talk, ponder, review, debate, discuss and render as many verdicts as you may in the time allowed. Our Cross will remain. We as a community (nay a nation) have so decided. We’re bout done with judges and lawyers and lawmakers. We’re doing the petition thing right now and playing into the legal game but in the final end we seem to have agreed as an expanded family of townsfolk that Our Cross will stay right where it is. Now it is entirely possible that nutcases may try to take down Our Cross. Up till now just talk and legal verdicts, but it’s within reason that Donna Frye and the other three council folks may march up the hill with axes or drive a bulldozer up the mount intent upon destruction. There they will find the townsfolk. And this time the vote will be real simple. Take Down Our Cross After You Take Us Down!! However, kudos to Big Mike. We do love a good meeting!! FREE CROSSES…FREE “SAVE OUR CROSS,” BUMPER STICKERS and a chance to sign our petition to Save Our Cross. One constant place is KOGO at 9660 Granite Ridge Drive. Our paid petition circulators are now on the street. Wal-Mart off of Aero Drive is being staffed 5:30am until 9pm daily. And you’ll see our folks all over heck’s half acre. Sign please. Registered voters, city of San Diego only please. Angela just checked in and tells us that a guy walks into KOGO this morning and turns in 600 signed petitions. Not a paid circulator. A townsman volunteer. Does that tell you something? Yea, like can you match that? Get cracking’ please. And get your free Cross in the ground or in your front window. We need to be seeing more Crosses folks. We want Donna and her buds to be confronted by Our Cross on the way to the pipe shop or the hemp shop or wherever they travel. And get up to the website: www.soledadnational.com and see where petition gatherers are and if you can, make us a donation. And as you get your own petitions signed and filled up get them into the mail right now. Don’t wait. We need to keep a constant count of petitions. And thank you churches. ROGER said he couldn’t get into his parish church without passing a table set up to get signatures. The big weekend is just ahead. Good Friday and then Easter Sunday. Be real great to have 100-thousand signed by Monday next. NEWS YOU ALREADY KNEW…our border security and homeland security is a farce. New study out of Pew provides latest evidence. Tide of illegal continues unabated. We are being flooded with folks whose intentions here we are unaware of. This at the same time the Bush administration proposes 2-thousand new Border Patrol Agents each year and then provides funding for 200 agents. Huh? Just one tale in a hundred that can be told on any given day. Home Depot providing materials for “day labor” camps. Cities acting as “sanctuaries,”…on and on.
