TODAY ON THE RADIO: ROGER (and Mark Larson) along with other local talk
show hosts, launch our SAVE OUR CROSS petition drive. We’ll have the
latest out of D.C. on congressional efforts to help us Save Our Cross.
Jack Riccardi from KTSA in San Antonio visits to help us sign up radio
show listeners to Hold Their Feet To The Fire XI. A whole lot of weekend
happenings. We break news before it happens. Your calls and more. Well

SAVE OUR CROSS CAMPAIGN IS LAUNCHED!!
(time is wasting)

MICHAEL SHELBY, better known to y’all perhaps as NY Myke of San Diego
Harley Davidson, filed legal papers late Friday afternoon last to overturn
SD council vote not to turn over the Cross and Memorial on Mt. Soledad to
the feds.

I’m not smart on this stuff but ROGER tells me that we now have 30 days to
garner 33-thousand petition signatures, an action that will force the SD
council to reverse it’s vote or allow us to take the matter to a public
ballot in the city of San Diego. The clock be ticking.

The immediate upside, tho, is that during this 30 days the ungodly in San
Diego may not touch Our Cross. It is saved for that duration.

Since our petition was filed late on Friday we are just beginning to have
them printed. Mike had 3-thousand printed at his own expense on Saturday.
Two printers who are ROGER show fans have agreed to print batches of
10-thousand petitions. I hope to have a whole lot of them at KOGO in time
for the start of the Mark Larson show at 12noon. Folks can come by KOGO
and sign, pick up petitions to distribute and get signed. You may also
sign and get petitions at Mike’s Harley Shop at 5600 Kearny Mesa Road (put
it on the Yahoo map thing).

As the day progresses we’ll announce other locations across the city where
you may either sign a petition or pick up a batch for circulations. There
is a mail back address at the bottom of each petition. Sooner is a whole
lot better than later….30 days is real short!!

You must be a registered voter who resides in San Diego to sign this
petition or to circulate it. We need 33-thousand signatures to force a
council vote reversal or a public ballot to Save Our Cross. That means
we’re gonna need 100-thousand to be sure and safe. Mike had 3-thousand
petitions printed on Saturday. Each petition has room for 10 signatures,
so finger and toe count sez that if we get all of that batch signed, we’re
looking at 30-thousand signatures as our starting point.

TIMING IS RIGHT…we are in the holy weeks of Lent. Good Friday is this
Friday. Easter Sunday coming on fast (gosh what might Our Cross have to do
with Easter?). We are efforting signature gathering at all San Diego
Churches (regardless of denomination - interesting to note that Michael
Shelby is a man of Jewish faith)

ALSO TODAY AT KOGO…in addition to coming by to pick up and/or sign the
petition to Save Our Cross, we’ll also be giving away free Crosses to put
in your front yard. Free. If you want to donate a buck or two that money
will be turned around to make more Free Crosses. You do not have to be a
resident of the city of San Diego to pick up a free Cross. We need a
county-wide (nay, nation-wide) display of Crosses.

AND WE’RE GETTING A TON of folks signing on to our Chain Gang. You do not
have to be a resident of the city of San Diego to sign on to our Chain
Gang. (in fact we’ve got folks from Ramona on our CG) Push comes to shove
we’ll stand between the bull dozer and Our Cross. We’re confident of
petition and legal success, but we’d best plan for the worser just in
case. Drop us an email if you want to sign on for the Chain Gang.

AND THANKS TO AMERICAN INTERNET SERVICES we have a new internet mailing
list, Save Our Cross. Those who volunteer to circulate petitions, sign on
to the Chain Gang or otherwise want to become involved will get (we hope)
a daily Save Our Cross update. If you’d like to be on that daily mail list
just volunteer to help or drop us an email.

AND JOIN ROGER AND MARK LARSON ON FRIDAY from 12n - 6pm at Our Cross on
Mt. Soledad. A day of celebration of free speech and solidarity. A mass
petition signing effort. We’ll likely have some Chain Gang exercises (like
military exercises). More to come on this as the week progresses.

shoot pictures and then put them on ROGER’S web Photo Blog. (see

above. We’ll post on the Photo Blog for you or on our Save Our Cross page
on our main page.

WE HAVE MADE A BEGINNING. THIS CROSS WILL STAND. They may cave in LA with
the city seal. They may cave in La Mesa with the Cross on the police
officer shoulder patch. They may cave everywhere in America. San Diego
will make the stand. To get to Our Cross you will have to come through
us!!

THE MOUNT SOLEDAD MEMORIAL ASSOCIATION IS NOT OUR FRIEND IN OUR EFFORTS TO
“SAVE OUR CROSS.”  The association back stabbed us on the Prop K vote,
telling us that a vote in their favor would Save Our Cross. They knew
better and lied. They promoted a NO vote at SD council to refuse to turn
over Our Cross to the feds and protect it. And now they’ll object to our
petition drive. WHY?

MONEY!! I have evidence in my currently nicotine stained fingers. Bill
Kellogg heads the Mt. Soledad Association, which sells plaques to honor
men and women who have served this great nation in times of war. It has
been his interest from the beginning to sacrifice Our Cross for HIS plaque
BUSINESS at the memorial.

May I quote Mr. Kellogg himself from an e-mail he writes on Thursday March
10th, 2005 in response to an email from a “native San Diegan who grew up
in Pacific Beach,” with regard to the Mt. Soledad Memorial Association’s
PROBLEM with Our Cross:

With regard to our fight to Save Our Cross, Mr. Kellogg writes:

“Delaying things is not an attractive option for us. Time works against us
because the longer the lawsuit continues, the MORE IT AFFECTS SALES. It
would be nice to keep the Cross on top of the mountain for a few extra
weeks or months BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF FIRING OUR OFFICE STAFF AND
CLOSING OUR DOORS.”

Did you read that right? Yep. Our efforts to Save Our Cross are standing
in the way of Kellogg and  Company SELLING STUFF AND PAYING EMPLOYEES!! We
are hurting his SALES!!

The Kellogg Association (if all goes well, and we have fingers CROSSED)
will be sued before the week is over for soliciting funds under false
pretenses. The pretense being that a purchased plaque would be displayed
beneath our beautiful and historic CROSS. They sell plaques this way,
while at the same time working diligently to have the Cross destroyed.

RADIO TALK SHOW HOSTS ARE UNITED in the effort to Save Our Cross. ROGER,
Mark Larson and others are supporting the petition drive.

MUTTERINGS

**HOLD THEIR FEET TO THE FIRE XI….We now have going on 300 talk radio
listeners from across the country coming with us to D.C. April 23 - 28th
to fight for immigration reform. That number will grow in the coming
weeks.

You already know that we have talk show hosts from LA, San Francisco,
Sacramento, Phoenix, Beaumont, Texas, and Chicago are on board to
broadcast live from D.C. Each radio host will bring listeners with them to
citizen lobby to secure America’s borders. Terry March, the wife of David,
and LA County Sheriff’s Deputy who was gunned down in cold blood (and
whose killer fled to safe haven in Mexico) will join us in D.C. CA
Assemblymen Jay La Suer and Mark Wyland will be with us. SD County
Supervisor Bill Horn will be with us. (We’re working on Diane Jacobs).

You need to come with us!! Our effort in late April culminates a
month-long effort to convince federal lawmakers to Protect America and
seal our borders. The Minutemen will gather on the Arizona border all
month long and then many of them will come to join us in D.C. to tell
tales of the border war and help us lobby.
