Chargers sign five-year partnership with Clear Channel

The San Diego Chargers signed a new five-year partnership with Clear Channel Communications, forming an enhanced programming and promotional relationship on all 12 Clear Channel stations in the San Diego area.

The team also announced that Rock 105.3 FM will be the new radio home of the Chargers’ preseason, regular season and postseason games.

“We’re excited to expand our relationship with Clear Channel in San Diego,” said Chargers Executive Vice President Jim Steeg. “This agreement is a partnership in the truest sense with Clear Channel and all of their stations. Now the Chargers will have a strong presence on three of San Diego’s most prominent stations – Rock 105.3, KGB and KOGO – as well as substantial promotional ties to all of the Clear Channel properties. We think this new partnership will bring us closer to more of San Diego’s and Southern California’s listening audience.”

“Clear Channel is thrilled about our new long-term partnership with San Diego's premiere sports franchise,” said Kelly Kibler, VP/Market Manager Clear Channel San Diego. “We look forward to an increased involvement in the San Diego sports community for many years to come.”

Clear Channel Communications also has an exclusive agreement to provide programming and sell advertising for Mexican-licensed XTRA-FM (91X), XHTZ-FM (Z90.3) and XOCL-FM (KOOL 99.3) as well as a similar arrangement with Binational Broadcasting for XHRM-FM (Magic 92.5).
