Soledad. We’ll need your ideas too!! Terry March joins ROGER. She the wife of a La County Deputy Sheriff murdered by a Mexican who fled to home country and avoided U.S. Justice. Terry will join ROGER in D.C. April 23 – 28th to fight for immigration reform. Jack Riccardi also joins us. He a talker in San Antonio who will urge his audience to come to D.C. with us in April. SD Councilman Jim Madaffer visits as we plan a strategy to save our Cross. Your calls are always our top priority. Fire up da phones at 3:07…beforehand you must do your homework: http://www.rogerhedgecock.com/macsclipboard.html AN ACT OF VIOLENCE!! (days away from Easter) EVEN AS THE WORLD prepares to celebrate again the re-birth of Christ on Easter Sunday, five members of the San Diego City Council vote to destroy a sacred symbol of that re-birth. Donna Frye, Ralph Inzunza, Scott Peters, Michael Zucchett, and Toni Atkins…all duly elected by the citizenry of America’s Finest City , vote to destroy our CROSS!! The vote was simple and not seriously controversial. All the council was asked to do was to “get rid of the Cross,” by deeding it to the federal government which has already declared the turf atop Mt. Soledad as a national memorial. The city would have been done with years of battle with a lone atheist who has devoted his life to demolishing our CROSS. City might have gotten on with a thousand crises which confront this failed local experiment in government by corruption. How stupid. Vote and turn the entire matter of the CROSS over to the feds. Let the feds defend the CROSS. Nope. Dumb as rocks council votes to destroy the CROSS which only furthers the local anger and controversy. OUT IN DEHESA we’re accustomed to reading and hearing about San Diego City stupid and acts of attempted and perpetrated violence. We followed (and continue to follow) the city battle against the Boy Scouts of America and their efforts to kick the Scouts out of Balboa Park and off Fiesta Island. How bout that for a brag…San Diego the City that crushes crosses and hates Boy Scouts!! Sounds like a Chamber of Commerce ad to us. Gosh we’ll lure a lot of conventions to San Diego with this rep. Just amazing!! And, at the same time, this be the city with two (formerly three) city council folks near months from prison time for vote selling at a strip club. A city where a council person runs illegally for office and continues to disrupt efforts to do city business with constant lawsuits. A city where council, retirement board and union chieftains plot to screw taxpayers and bonus gummint workers with wage perks and health and pension benefits that would make Saddam blush. A city where a growing cadre of honchos top the 100 and 200 thousand a year wage pegs. Out in Dehesa we’re sitting on porches with a Chesterfield in one hand and a finger or two of Jack in the other and wondering why nobody in San Diego don’t go down to city hall and punch some folks out!! WHAT TO DO!! Well ROGER is in full lather. We’re gonna work a number of counter assaults to save the CROSS. 1) Referenda in the works. We’ll launch or join one that is launched elsewhere. The referenda demanding another council vote will immediately stop any action to destroy the CROSS while we gather petition signatures. 2) We’re asking Duncan Hunter and Duke Cunningham to amend their previous legislation declaring the Mount (and CROSS) a national memorial to allow the feds to simply take possession of Mt. Soledad without city approval. 3) We’re in a ponder on possible recall of council folks. 4) A variety of legal actions are possible including a suit against the Memorial Association that sandbagged the city vote on the CROSS and then lobbied city council to destroy the CROSS. Seems the Association may have solicited funds for memorial plaques under false pretenses, telling purchasers that the Association would defend the CROSS and using the presence of the CROSS at the memorial to lure buyers of memorial plagues. We are researching other legal action that might be taken including a case up in LA where council was court ordered to do another hearing because council folks didn’t pay attention during council session. 5) And we have to expand our defense of our CROSS beyond the confines of the city of San Diego. We must solicit support from around the nation and make this a cause that fires up the American community. God is being ripped from the public arena in every city in this nation and we will make a stand in San Diego. We shall not go silently into the night as others have before us. 6) We are encouraging our listeners to display the CROSS on cars, lawns, places of business and any where else possible. Just a CROSS. There need be no message beyond that statement of commitment to the CROSS. ROGER is working with listeners who run businesses that make stickers and such and we’ll make those available for free. But it don’t take much to manufacture a CROSS out of two sticks of wood. We need to see CROSSES everywhere in this county. 7) ROGER working with local churches for another live broadcast on Mount Soledad as we approach Easter. We’ll rally our forces and recommit to the CROSS. You got some ideas that we need? Let us know!! And dare I say it. I live in Dehesa but I’m willing to do a shift chained to the cross. I’ll do the 2am shift if necessary. I’d like to think that the folks who come to destroy the CROSS will be met by folks who will SAVE THE CROSS!! I’ve never gotten real involved in civil disobedience…always had to much work to do and all like that. But this I can find time for. We’re going to put a special SAVE THE CROSS space on ROGER’S website to keep folks up to date on our efforts and how folks across America can become involved!! Amazing..destroy a CROSS within days of Easter Sunday!! Beyond belief.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
