KOGO/AM 600 - 3P - 6P (Pacific)
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA
THE RADIO MAYOR OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
FRIDAY MARCH 4TH , 2005

TODAY ON THE RADIO: ROGER and y’all have observations on yesterdays “Take
It To The Streets,” rally at KOGO. We’ve been recruited AGAIN!!. We spend
some quality minutes with Mike Siegel the top talker at KTTH in Seattle,
Wa. Mike and his listeners join us in D.C. April 23-28th. This is Friday
so we’ll Rock With ROGER and jumpstart another wonderful San Diego
weekend. Keep that radio tuned to us as you get-a-way early, okay?
Complete your assignments beforehand please:

“TAKE IT TO THE STREETS” A TREMENDOUS SUCCESS!!
(thank you)

THANKS TO ALL who idled in line for a long, long time yesterday to sign
two petitions to help our Governor get the state of California back on
track. One thing to wait a minute or two in line, but in some cases you
folks put up with a traffic jam that led all the way from KOGO studios
back to the I-15 and moved real slow. Sixteen hundred and four of y’all
signed our petitions yesterday. What a great beginning.

ARNOLD thrilled our crowd of several hundred outside ROGER’S office at
KOGO. He gave us marching orders and fired us up during a full hour on
ROGER’S show. The man has star quality that serves us very well. He
commands attention and is a box office hit as the CEO of California.

Thanks as well to the San Diego County GOP folks and Ron Nehring. They put
out overnight word of the Arnold visit at KOGO via their e-mail tree.
Phone message banks fired up and worked thru Wednesday evening and most of
the day Thursday.

AND KUDOS TO KOGO folks and Sherry in Promotions and Marketing. She worked
with Arnold’s staff to produce a secure, safe and citizen friendly venue
for the Governor. Putting this kind of event on with mere hours notice
isn’t chump. Every step the Governor takes has to be secure, reviewed and
planned for, and then executed. We often poke fun at Clearchannel suits
(cause it’s fun) but truth be known these folks are pros. ROGER and Team
Hedgecock indebted for their great work. We could concentrate on the
broadcast, the petitions and the details of pension reform and
redistricting without having to worry about logistics or broadcast
technicalities.

WE DIDN’T SEE MUCH of the media coverage but it had to be hard to put a
cheap spin on this event. The Governor gave the legislature plenty of time
to act on the four proposals he put forth in his State of the State
Address. Democrats stumble, mumble and do nothing and this Governor takes
charge and enlists the folks who put him in office. And the protestors who
did show up all had personal agendas to peddle and not the agenda of the
people of the great state of California.

THE BATTLE WILL BE TOUGH!! Teachers don’t cotton to pay for achievement.
They won’t eagerly give up lifetime employment regs (tenure). Unions won’t
lay still for pension reform even tho current overpayment of benefits is
about to break the state bank.

So much hard work still ahead. We need 600,000 signatures on each of four
petitions to get Arnold’s reforms on the fall ballot. Fortunately us plain
ole citizen folks are riled up and fired up but we’ll face millions of
dollars of opposition loot. Unions have made this a national campaign.
Money will flow in from every union PAC on the planet. They’ll produce
fake petitions, run TV and radio ads out the wazzo and tell you that your
kid is gonna be forced into classrooms with convicted felons or some such
garbage. Not sure how they’ll do it but watch out for union charges that
kids will starve or die and your mom and dad will be kicked out of their
homes.

HEADS UP IN THE DAYS AHEAD…we’ve only made a beginning. We’ll have to run
a series of petition signing drive bys. We’ll keep you posted on where you
can sign the four petitions and how you can get petitions to circulate
yourself.

We’re hoping that the campaign will come up with a petition that can be
downloaded from your computer but in the meantime you can request
petitions at this website: Citizens To Save Ca. Org
http://www.citizenstosaveca.org/

WE ALSO HAVE SOME PETITIONS at KOGO radio (9660 Granite Ridge Drive, San
Diego) You can sign two of them right now at our lobby front desk. And we
have a small store of petitions in the Team Hedgecock office that we can
share.

UNION TRIB COVERAGE OF THE ARNOLD-ROGER RALLY

SHORT STORIES. Every time we work with the Governor we’re impressed by his
humanity and the caring of the folks around him. Yesterday Arnold didn’t
rush off after his hour long radio gig with ROGER. He signed autographs
and posed for pictures for a good while.

A young boy (maybe 10 or so) had an Arnold banner that he was holding up
for the Governor’s signature. Arnold didn’t see him, so one of his
security guys asked me to get the banner. He put it in front of the
Governor to sign and then gave it back to me to give to the youngster. A
woman in a wheel chair couldn’t get to the front on the line for a
signature. Another security guy asked me if she was okay (she was, she’s a
steady listener and comes to several of ROGER’S remotes) and I said yes.
That prompted me to shout for the crowd to open and allow her thru and to
the head of the rope line whereupon the Governor signed her picture. And
the Governor can’t resist kids. Coach Denny Snyder brought a dozen of his
Escondido Charter High Schools kids down to be at the Governor’s rally. It
didn’t take much prompting for Arnold to pause for a group picture with
the kids.

I’m not a real great judge of people. But thanks to working for ROGER I’ve
been around Arnold a number of times and the ponder reveals that he’s not
only a Leader and a man who speaks the Truth (albeit with an accent) but a
nice guy. I don’t think we give folks enough credit for being NICE!! He’s
warm, genuine and affectionate. Makes one feel real proud that we gave him
our vote and played a very small role in hiring him to salvage the Gold
State.

NOW LET’S GET TO WORK OKAY…We’re 598,396 petition signatures shy on two of
the reform measures and still 600,000 short on the other two (we’ll have
them available as soon as possible.

MUTTERINGS

**HOLD THEIR FEET TO THE FIRE XI….trip planning is continuing apace. At
least 200 folks signed up and paid from San Diego and Los Angeles thanks
to ROGER’S show and the JOHN & KEN show on KFI-LA. That is nowhere near
enough folks to make an impact in D.C. April 23 - 28th as ROGER, talk show
hosts from across the nation and their listeners citizen-lobby for
immigration reform. But we’ve got a little bit of time and we have to get
talk show hosts from elsewhere to fire up their audiences and get them on
board.

Each day from here on out (save a week or so while ROGER is on vacation in
March) we’ll have a talk show host on ROGER’S local radio show and we’ll
have ROGER on their shows in Phoenix, Beaumont, Texas, San Francisco,
Seattle and elsewhere to fire up the faithful who care about homeland
security and a secure border.

If you can’t come along but want to give us a dollar or two to sponsor a
student from Escondido Charter High to come with us, please do so. Check
made out to Escondido Charter High and mail to us at KOGO, 9660 Granite
Ridge Drive, San Diego, Ca. 92123 % of the Roger Hedgecock Show. Let a
bright youngster carry your message to our federal lawmakers and quote the
President “We’ve Got To Enforce Our Borders.” (and thanks to Lincoln who
gave us a check for the kids yesterday at the rally)

And if you think this ain’t a crisis, tune in most any night to the Lou
Dobbs Show on CNN. His continuing reporting on Broken Borders is downright
bone chilling spooky.

More info our our historic national campaign to Reform Immigration can be
found at our partner’s website: www.fairus.org or at
www.rogerhedgecock.com FAIR as ya’ll should know is the Federation For
American Immigration Reform. Good solid America folks!!

**HOMEFRONT SAN DIEGO…this communities continuing commitment to the
families of our deployed (and wounded) warriors. No problem this audience
can’t (or hasn’t) solve for a family while their loved one is in combat.
This is a military community and we take care of our own!! Listen daily as
ROGER does a Homefront San Diego Update detailing the work we (you) are
doing and who we are helping on a constant basis. One phone number to
request help or offer to help: 866-424-9467 or get info at
