THE ROGER HEDGECOCK SHOW
KOGO/AM 600 - 3P - 6P (Pacific)
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA
THE RADIO MAYOR OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
WEDNESDAY MARCH 2ND , 2005

TODAY ON THE RADIO: ROGER finally lets cat out of bag regarding new CA
talk radio campaign!! We visit a spell with Lars Larson, he is coming with
us to D.C. in April and bringing his listeners. Lars is the top talker on
KXL Radio in Portland, Oregon and has a syndicated show on Westwood One.
Also, we chat up Kate Coleman-author of “The Secret Wars Of Judi Bari: A
Car Bomb, the fight for the Redwoods, and the End of Earth First” …a tale
of green terrorism. And, as usual breaking news as it happens and insights
you may obtain nowhere else on the planet. We do require homework,
however. The assignments are at this web address:

TAXPAYERS ARE RICH!!
(y’all got a ton of monies)

DON’T DENY IT!! You folks are rolling in the dough. Like that cartoon rich
guy who swims in his vault fulla coins and greenbacks. Quit poor mouthing,
okay? The jig is up. We know you are loaded. You got money coming out the
wazzo. Confess!!

We know that cause we read the bird cage liner. You pay your public
employees a fantastic wage. And you must have a lot of money squirreled
away for your own retirement because you go well out of your way to ensure
that your gummint employees will want for nothing in their retirement. You
even pay a bonus thing called “drop,” whereby you give your city employees
this really big bag of cash (like a hunnerd grand or more) on the day they
retire to kinda jump start the rest of their lives. And you provide
outstanding health care to your retired gummint workers.

Don’t be crying poor. You must have a boatload of retirement money your
own self to be able to afford all those gold nuggets for public servants
golden years.

And hey, don’t deny that you pay many of your public workers 100-200 grand
a year. Some of your workers only work like 9 months out of a full year.
You can afford that you can’t hide that you must be living way up high on
that hog.

No wonder you ain’t upset about a pension scam in San Diego City and near
everywhere else that hires folks in the public service. You’re rich and it
don’t matter!! Thought you had us fooled, right?

RIVERSIDE COUNTY SEEKS A WAY TO STAY AFLOAT AND STILL PAY GUMMINT WORKERS!!

SOMETIME TODAY ROGER will give us a call to action. Time all us rich folks
got cracking to stifle the mis-use of our bounty. Ears up on the radio
today. Uncle Arnold needs you!!

MUTTERINGS

**WAY TOO FUN!! Past couple of flashes we’ve been relating how nimbys up
in Ramona all panty wadded over a road bypass and a plan to domain some
homes to make room for the road. Residents rally, get to media and fret a
lot on TV. Guess what?

Turns out there is no bypass road planned. We guess there never was. What
we’re told is that the county needed to create a bank account for
developer fees that will be charged to mitigate traffic problems when new
home projects are built. Developers make roads in the development and all
like that, but the surrounding roadways are impacted by increased traffic.
That argument for another day…the long-short is that the county called the
bank account “the Ramona Bypass.”

Pure technical bank stuff. But some dufuss at the county took the matter a
step ahead and pasted an actual bypass design on a map. Huh? Don’t know
why but they done it. And that’s what riled up the nimbys.

No bypass was or is planned. And that makes fair sense. It takes gummint
like two decades to jump thru all the environmental and regulations stuff
(just like private business). If they had planned a road it would have got
built in 2020.

The miscue does point up the fact, however, that all these upset folks in
Ramona ought to be running for or at least attending local planning
meetings. We’re told the folks serving on that board currently are total
lame.

**TIP OF THE TEAM HEDGECOCK BALL CAP to the SD Board of Supervisors. They
beat back a Greg Cox measure that would have endorsed enviro objections to
completing the triple fence along the border at Border State Park. The
other four sups nixed that in the bud and voted 4-1 to support the fence.

If I was a coyote I’d be load housing my truck loads of illegals in Cox’s
district. He’s apparently border buster friendly. Maybe a mosque or
something down the street from his home? Illegals from Iran and Saudi have
to go to church someplace, right?

**SPEAKING OF ILLEGALS…I don’t think we’ve done this. It’s kinda old,
October 6th, 2004, but if you ain’t read it, it’s brand new, right.
Actually it’s an item that was rejected for radio broadcast but we still
think it’s kinda cute.

Back last October the Chula Vista (down near the border) Board of
Education put out a press release asking folks to help name a new
elementary school. Folks could send in their suggestions and a winner
would be picked by the board of ed. Sorry folks, the deadline was November
16th, 2004.

It prompted the ponder for us and so we came up with some suggestions that
we hate ourselves for not submitting in time:

1) Vincente Fox Elementary
2) North Tijuana Elementary
3) La Raza Elementary
4) La Pinata Elementary
5) Aztlan Elementary
6) Mecha Elementary
7) Cinco de Mayo Elementary
8) No La Migra Elementary
9) Undocumented worker child Elementary
10) Islamic Jihad Mosque Elementary

We know we woulda won!! We didn’t enter tho cause there was no prize
offered….not even a small bottle of Jack Daniels….how cheap is that? We
should check and see what they really did name the school..maybe Amnesty
Elementary?

**WE’RE WAITING FOR ONE FINAL PIECE OF CONFIRMATION but we’ll unload this
item now regardless. If we’re wrong tell us.

A business in a place here in the county that we won’t name undergoes
annual fire inspections by the City of San Diego. We guess it’s a routine
thing at certain (maybe all?) types of businesses. Fire guys come in, walk
thru, look around and sign an inspection document.

A person who is involved in this annual event for this particular business
viewed it as routine until just last week. Fire folks show up and inform
the business that this year the required inspection (previously paid for
by a variety of taxes that businesses have to pay…so it’s free but not
free) would come with a fee of $449.00. Huh? Yep. And the business was
told that the fire department might be around twice a year from now on.
Huh?

But our source sez the fire inspectors were not at all happy. Not about
the fee. The fire folks were, according to this source, upset because they
wanted the new fire inspection fee of $449 bucks to go to the fire
department instead of the city.

This is likely just rumor. SD City wouldn’t be creating fees for stuff
that is routinely done without charge? Naaaa. Not this city council. Watch
this space for an update.

**I’VE BEEN TOLD BY KC to tip the Team Hedgecock Ball Cap to STORAGE USA
in Santee for donating a 10X20 storage unit for use by our Homefront San
Diego. KC is our lead volunteer (Director). Storage is a big problem for
us and up until now we’ve basically been using KC’s garage. Storage USA
has also given us a lot of boxes and stuff so we can organize food, toys,
diapers, baby formula etc. And Storage USA has also agreed to be a drop
off point for Homefront San Diego so you can give us stuff for our
military families.

Storage USA is located at 10115 Mission Gorge Road in Santee. Phone number
is 619-562-0100.

And since we’re on the topic…we need non-perishable food. We always need
baby formula and diapers. Twice monthly we do a food distribution program
for our lower ranked enlisted military families. Check out our website for
drop off points around the county www.homefrontsandiego.org

And we need folks to donate cars. Not junkers please. We have waiting list
of military families that need a vehicle. Families with kids with husbands
deployed. We always get a rush of donated cars and trucks around the end
of the year because of tax deductions…but our need to serve military
families don’t just happen in November and December. If you can help call
our hotline at 866-424-9467.

That same number works for any military family that has a need!! Put it on
the fridge!!

GOD BLESS AMERICA
