Best and Worst Station of 2004 Winners Announced (Dec 13, 2004)

R. Wills's name was drawn at random and is the winner of my CD David Tanny "Stupid Audio 1.0" CD!. Congratulations. Here's what he wrote:

Best SD station overall: 94.9 fm
Worst station overall: 1240 am

Best SD FM station: 94.9 A wide variety of music w/little dj interference
Worst FM: 102.1 This station has a very limited playlist that appears to have been created 5 years ago because they are playing the same mix of song titles for that long. That mix appears to be about 75 songs

Best SD AM station: 1360 A breath of fresh air when it comes to talk radio
Worst AM: 1240 Dead carrier some days and nights, poor signal

Sloppiest broadcast station: 88.7 out of Mexico. Sometimes off frequency, overmodulated, noisey multiplex when it works.

Best San Diego Stations Count: 94.9, 9 votes. 96.5, 6 votes. 98.1, 103.7, and 1360, 5 votes.

Worst San Diego Stations Count: 90.3, 11 votes. 100.7, 5 votes. 101.5, and 93.3, 4 votes. 600, 3 votes.

Here's what the other voters said about the San Diego radio stations (one named a Los Angeles-based station). Many showed a favortism towards traditional rock and pop music, as well as liberal talk. Many showed a disgust towards the lowly hip hop lifestyle and right-wing views.
