Real Life Comic Strip (Originally Published Aug 27, 2004)As you know, Dr. Demento's radio show is on a few dozen radio stations in the U.S.A. In cities finer than San Diego, radio stations are still carrying his weekly does of mad music and crazy comedy as well as comedy filk and other pop culture funnies on stations such as those you see listed on websites such as davesfunstuff.com and sandiegoradionews.com.I first got XM radio after being reluctant to spend $200 on a system I thought I would rarely use. Oddly enough, I was listening to missed Dr. Demento shows on pirated MP3s burned to a CD in my car since 2001. In late May 2003, after learning the news about the Best of Dr. Demento show on XM Radio, I jumped over to Circuit City and bought a XM Sky Fi for the home stereo and hooked it up to my Hi-Fi VCR so I can tape the shows and other stuff on the VCR, then listen to it later.
