ROGER took a hundred listeners (paid their own way) to Sacramento in January of this year. Hold Their Feet To The Fire IX (that's nine for gummint school folks). We trekked up to send a message as lawmakers opened their new session: No Tax Increases!! Our listeners did the citizen-lobby thing. Visited offices, met lawmakers and well paid aides and made the case for getting behind our new governor and for getting California back on track.

Faithful listeners know that this trip was a departure. ROGER traditionally takes listeners to D.C. each year (hence the numbering thing about the trips) to keep members of the U.S. Congress in line. But given the emergency nature of our fiscal and cultural disaster in CA ROGER opted to get thee to Sacramento in 2004.

Long story made short the GOP folks in Sacramento from the Governor on down were amazed to see a talkshow host and a gaggle of his listeners trooping the corridors and demanding accountability and drawing a line in the foy grass over tax increases. The same representative group that ousted Gray Dufuss was now in the state capital supporting the man they had elected to replace the Duf. So the GOP leader in the Assembly, Kevin McCarthy invites ROGER and his listeners back in June when the budget crunch gets serious. And thus is born a thing called "Clear Speak," or something like that.

Not only will ROGER broadcast live from Sacramento Monday and Tuesday with an audience of half a hundred listeners but talkshow hosts from all over the state will join us.The folks have set up a giant tent on the state capital lawn and a score of radio shows will originate from nearly inside the belly of the beast. From northern Ca to Southern Ca to points in between talk radio will descend upon Sacramento to shine a light on the final hours of the budget process. This, of course, is when the dirty deeds are done by the democrats. Pork gets slipped in. Confused Gender laws are passed. Fees are hikes. Revenue Enhancements are enacted and citizens rights are taken away. Perhaps not this time.

This has never happened before. This year ROGER is the only talkshow host who is bringing a cadre of his listeners along. We hope that next year the event will become a major citizen lobby effort. Ain't it just about time that we poor folks who pay the taxes and suffer the abuse of gummint get a say? Yep!!

There is a part for y'all to play in this next Monday and Tuesday effort. Listen to our shows on Monday and Tuesday and then lend your voice to our platoon of citizen Warriors. Call your lawmakers and the governor.No Tax Increases. Hold the line on spending. No licenses for illegals. Keep the hiring freeze. Break the gummint union lock on democrat lawmakers. You get the picture.

If half a hundred of us in Sacramento can count on the support of thousands of citizens back home we can help Arnold get us back on track in CA. Not like it's brain surgery. Don't spend what you don't got. My wife tells me that all the time. And by gosh, it works.

The folks who belong to the U.S. Navy League are holding their national meeting in San Diego. We pay tribute to those who support our active duty Sailors and Marines. C'mon down, tour the USS Midway Museum. See a couple of war fighting ships. Meet some Marine heroes and enjoy an afternoon on the docks. We won't be hard to find. You can also meet many of the folks who make ROGER'S Operation Homefront work.military wife volunteers and local merchants who are the backbone of our military family support organization.
