KCBQ 1170 - KCBQ remembers Phil Flowers. January 31, 1945-December 22, 2003. KCBQ's resident historian, Phil Flowers landed his dream job as a disc jockey for KCBQ in 1970 during the sation's "rock revolution". He returned to 1170 KCBQ with "I Still Q in My Car" on Saturday nights in 2000 bringing back actual broadcasts played on KCBQ during each era of the station's history. Phil was also heard filling in on "The Gospel Celebration" on KCBQ and sister-station KPRZ 1210AM. Phil Flowers played an important role in the history of KCBQ and San Diego radio. He will be missed by all who knew him.
