Tony and Kris Gone From KSON (Dec 30, 2003)

Visit the http://www.tonyandkris.com/ website.

rronline
Tony & Kris Exit KSON/San Diego... The station and morning teamers Tony Randall and Kris Rochester have parted ways, unable to come to terms on a new contract. Tony & Kris were waking 'em up at WHMA/Anniston, AL when hired to do mornings at the legendary Country outlet more than 10 years ago.

KSON PD John Dimick tells R&R, "This is as amicable a parting as you can get in this situation. It sucks not to be able to work this out, but life and the radio station will go on. KSON has a long history of great morning shows, and we will certainly continue that tradition."

As for Tony and Kris, speculation not only has them remaining in San Diego, but going on the air as soon as Jan. 5. And, while that may automatically lead you to think they're headed to Clear Channel LMA'd Country XHCR (Bob) — another rumor has a new Country outlet ready to debut next Monday with the boys as morning anchors.

Hmmmmmm! What's up at JEFFERSON-PILOT Country giant KSON/SAN DIEGO? A glance at http://kson.com shows morning duo TONY & KRIS missing!

Looks like Tony and Kris, who did mornings on KSON 97.3/92.1, are no longer employed at the station. No word why their association with the Jefferson-Pilot Communications radio station has been terminated. The kson.com website no longer mentions them, their morning shift has been replaced by the generic "Kayson Country Mornings" on the "On The Air" page.

The Tony and Kris on KSON.com's website is still present, but is not linked from any of the pages on the kson website.

If anyone knows where Tony and Kris will land (Bob?), please let SDN know.

I guess it's time for me to harvest some of the stuff off the KSON website before they take it down...
