Dr. Demento Show on XM Satellite Radio!

From http://www.drdemento.com/:

Still can't get your local station to carry Dr. Demento's show on the airwaves? How about listening to the show on Satellite radio....provided you don't mind paying $10 for the priviledge.

The Dr. Demento Show's syndicator, Talonian Productions, has made a deal with XM Satellite Radio, home of KIIS-FM and hundreds of other stations, to carry selected recent (but not the previous week) and classic airings of the Dr. Demento Show on XM Channel 30 ("Special X") Mondays at 6pm ET/3pm PT, Wednesdays at 12NOON ET/9am PT, and Fridays at 12 midnight (do they mean Fridays at 12AM/Thursdays at 9pm PT or do they mean Saturdays at 12AM/Fridays at 9pm PT)?

Dr. Demento is Now on XM Radio Channel 150! Hear The Best of Dr D Sundays 6am ET/3am PT

From the drdemento.com website: (this is old news, now outdated) "THE BEST OF DR. DEMENTO" IS ON XM SATELLITE RADIO! -- We're happy to announce that starting June 2 you can hear the Dr. Demento Show on XM Satellite Radio. Now, at last, people everywhere in the 48 contiguous United States can hear the show every week in CD-quality sound. XM provides 100 individual channels of programming to listeners everywhere in the contiguous USA. Using special receivers, you can pick up music for practically every taste on an incredible variety of special music channels, plus news, sports and talk. Receivers are available for car, home and computer at electronics stores nationwide. (More details and ordering information at xmradio.com).

No word whether Talonian and XM radio will be airing the current Dr. Demento shows in pattern with the better radio broadcasters such as WLUP and KOZT who carry his radio show. Sure beats the hell out of MP3 sound! Give me full fidelity sound and I'll pay for it. Make me pay for MP3s and I'll...

Readers Letters: XM Radio and Dr. Demento 5-22-03

From Russ in Colorado (also asked from a few others on the mailing list and e-mail):

re: Dr. Demento Comes to XM Radio June 2:

This sounds like good news. I've never had the slightest interest in XM radio before now. It looks like the entry point for XM radio is about $200 list, with the Delphi XM Satellite Radio with either a Car or a Home Kit. Can anybody...reccommend a good buy on XM radio? Any current sales or special rebate deals on XM equipment?

From Duane Whittingham (N9SSN):

OK Guys have i got a deal for you! I have a contact at XM and have his ok to use him, when you use a XM employee you get it at a GREAT deal, please read everything as there is a catch you must stay with them for 6 months tho.

It's an amazing deal. You can get either the complete car cassette or home system (SKYFi Radio + Adaptor Kit with antenna) and FREE activation for only $99, plus shipping and taxes. That's a savings of $100. Your friends and family can order by completing the following:

1) Go to: http://xmffoffer1202.xmradio.com
2) In the sponsor's email field, enter this address--
