SD Radio Blotter: anyone notice the song that was playing in the background during KOOL 95.7's Hawaii Give-away contest? Must be Spike Jones and His City Slickers' "Hawaiian War Chant" off the Spike Jones "For Music Lovers Only" box set...from 5am-6am, KFMB 760 is still at 50,000 nighttime watts when Bill Holland's show is on, but drops to 5,000 at dawn. Why? In order to protect KBRT 740 out of Avalon, which broadcasts only during the daytime (at night, it signs off, and KCBS 740 out of San Francisco comes in). But when that 50,000 watt goes down at dawn, another station boosts its power to 50,000 watts...KCBQ 1170. So San Diego does have a 50,000 watt station on the AM band at all times, except that it takes two stations to do the job... Terri Nunn of Berlin joins Steve West sunday morning between 6am and NOON during "Resurrection Sunday" at 91X, which marked its 20th anniversary on January 10th as an alternative rocker (it's been a 91X before that, but it played KGB/KPRI style rock before that.) The first song they played at 6pm? Berlin's "Sex"... Pirate 96.9 says in the SD Reader that it will be broadcasting Sunday the 12th between 7:30 and 8:30pm somewhere in the San Diego area. Anyone care to miss The Simpsons to check?

Chris Cantore did some things to mark the 20th anniversary of 91X Friday. Russ T. Nailz, a legendary comedian in town, spent some time with him, and talked Road Runner (sports, or broadband?). He wanted to have another former 91X jock I'm not going to name here, but that proved to be impossible, but Chris plans on smoking 20 bowls on 4/20/03 (get it?)

KOOL 95.7 recently tweaked its oldies format to include more oldies, like the ones you haven't heard since....your childhood? Listen for the one-hit wonders in the late evening and the Beatle Bedtime songs at night. Also listen Sunday mornings, and Saturday and Sunday nights especially when the commercial load for KOOL is down and the station plays more variety of oldies. What do you think? Let me know. E-mail the programmer at KOOL at http://www.koolsandiego.com

Most Clear Channel FM's Stop Streaming on the Internet...again...only 91X is streaming, I guess, but just yesterday when I perused the Clear Channel FM websites, all but Rock 105.3 were streaming. Now, looks like most have taken their streams down and left this message on their websites:

TO OUR FORMER STREAMING LISTENERS: We apologize that we are no longer streaming our radio station over the Internet. Unfortunately, streaming over the Web has recently become much more expensive. The associations for the music recording industry and others lobbied for and received changes in Federal law, rules and regulations that require stations like ours to pay each time we play a song on the Internet, and to report very cumbersome and extensive information. It has become, basically, too much for us to handle and too expensive for us to continue.

If and when the environment or the law that allowed those burdensome rules and regulations changes and we can economically provide our content to you again over the Internet, rest assured we'll be back!

Thanks for listening. End of message.

This is D.T. again. So I guess there won't be a "My" My 94.1 of your own that you can customize for you and your friends anytime soon...unless CC buys live365.com or something else that streams.

Jim Rome, who gave up a daily TV show on Fox Sports Net to devote more time to his radio show, will return to TV in May. He has agreed to a deal with ESPN for a weekly, one-hour program titled ``Rome Is Burning.''

Early reviews of the newly merged XTRA 690-1150 aren't good. But we'll reserve judgment for a week, listen some more before writing further. (SD Union-Tribune's Jay Posner has the week off, but next week, he's sure to also be disecting the XTRA duocast as well.)

Subject: urban format. Posted by urban: "Has San Diego ever had a mainstream urban on the FM dial? Why don't they have one now? Magic is JO'. Z90 is for the kids only. I know LA stations though can be heard in the northern metro, can't serve the San Diego urban fans."

Posted by JOSH: "XHRM was Urban for many years. However in 93, some guy that ran some Hometown Buffets in San Diego decided to lease 92.5 and flipped it to Alternative rock as the Flash. Since then SD has been Urban-Less. I do hope that changes. Interesting to keep in mind too that Michael Halloreen programmed the Flash at it's end(it was known as 92/5 at that point). Jacor ended up taking over and Magic(KMGC) which was a Rhythmic AC(R&B driven) moved over to 92.5. Well, now Michael Halloreen is programming 94/9 and I somehow feel he won't be going anywhere with it. I have a feeling that history will repeat itself and a Urbanic format will knock him out again. Anyone wanna bet?"

Subject: YOUR opinion on the XTRA Sports Merge.

Posted by tico the so-cal on 1/10/2003, 9:10:34: "The fact that I can hear Jim Rome live and that they kept Hacksaw is cool. I do like JT the Brick but I felt that Jon Kentera and the Vast Morning Wasteland shouldn't have been let go. The Loose Cannons should've been let go. What I don't understand is since 690 has such a strong signal throughout Southern California, why simulcast the same thing on 1150? They could've programmed something else and still broadcast UCLA games and any other L.A. sports they broadcast on there."

Posted by David Eduardo: "XETRA-690 does not even manage a 10 mV/m signal north of Irvine; it is just not strong enough to be heard on the average radio in most of the LA metro... except along the coast."

Posted by Kyle Hojem: "690 comes in better here in Irvine than 1150."

Posted by Fred: "On the UC Irvine campus I cannot listen to either of them properly on my tuner or walkman. In the car its ok though. Bad because I would like to listen to Rome in my office."

Posted by Daivd Eduardo: "1150 is not supposed to city grade Irvine. That is exactly why 690 and 1150 were combined. they fit almost perfectly as a combo, though. 690 does the southern part of Orange plus SD county, 1150 the northern part of OC, and 1150 does LA County as well."

Posted by Sal: "Huh? I've heard 690 all the way in Bakersfield during daytime. I hear it all day at work here in Rosemead on a cheap, old radio and my brother hears it deep inside the DWP building in downtown LA on a Walkman. The talk shows on 690 get callers from the SF Valley, LA, Inland Empire, and Victorville, just to name a few cities, on top of all the San Diego calls they get. It's a booming signal. Regarding the personalities, I would have preferred the VMW over Tony Bruno, keeping Rome and Hacksaw was a no brainer, but unlike the original poster, I'm glad they kept Hartman/Werndl (the Loose Cannons) in place of Kiley and Booms."

Posted by David Eduardo: "On a car radio, right? Car radios in nearly 100% of cases are far better at getting distant signals than home or portable radios. Exceptions do not make rules. XETRA has not gotten and kind of useful numbers with any format in LA for over a decade because the signal is too weak... less than 5 mVm in Hollywood, for example. It has no 10 mV/m north of Irvine. That is a signal that can be heard, but not everywhere and not where there is man made interference, inside most buildingas and on most consumer radios. Occasional reception in either areas with less interference or where the signal is less impaired does not negate the fact that the signal is too weak to be used in most parts of LA on most radios. I can get KOA in Denver on my car radio driving to Vegas. That does not mean that KOA will get ratings in Vegas or even be usable in Vegas. It is occasional, unreliable reception. More to the point, I have a $400 Sony tuner in my office with an antenna taped to the outside window; I can not get 690 at all in Glendale."

Posted by Proud2BaRadioGroupie: "Listen, O Bag'o'Wind... You need to get a new/better radio, dude. I can pick up KOA any night on a little transistor radio in my HOME, not on the car radio. This same transistor radio picks up XTRA with no problem along with most AM LA signals 5kw or better between 540 kc and 1190kc . (I live 50 miles from downtown LA) You need to stop rebutting every freakin' sentence, dude. The Southern California Groove board does not revolve around David Eduardo. Also, the Chicago radio-info board etc etc. Seems to me you have too much tme on your hands. When do you sleep?"

Posted by Daivd Eduardo: "OK, so why does 690 not get any ratings in LA except in the southernmost areas of Orange County? Most people can not hear it well enough to enjoy it. This is precisely the reason why CCU is combining 1150 and 690; where 690 leaves off in central Orange County is where 1150 starts to have a decent signal. And, as is obvious, when the facts contradict your point of view you go into an ad hominem? Clever, showning a lack of in inteligence and knowledge. The point was, "why is Clear Channel adding 690 and 1150 together?" It is not a waste of a signal, it is a perfect match for two signals."

Posted by Proud2BaRadioGroupie: "Please define "southernmost Orange County". Please define "decent signal" because 1150 AM is CRAP in CENTRAL and even NORTH Orange County, areasI drive in DAILY --- Do you, DE?? Because of 1150's very directional pattern day and night, the signal gets VERY distorted even in North Orange County (Engineer could explain the reasons why). And at night, there is lots of interference on 1150, none on 690. I LIVE here, do not tell me what I am hearing, because you DO NOT LIVE HERE. So when you talk about "facts", get in your car, drive on I-5 through Irvine (not exactly southernmost Orange County) and drive on Imperial Highway from La Habra through Brea to Yorba Linda to Anaheim Hills and listen to 1150 and compare its reception to 690's. But you won't do it will you? "

Posted by David Eduardo: "The only Zip Codes with any appreciable XETRA listening historically have been way to the South of Irvine ("southernmost"); most are in the San Clemente area, in fact. That would indicate that the programming is possibly interesting, but any farther northe the signal is less listenable. 1150 is pretty much useless before Irvine; it protects the signal of a co-channel station in Mexicali and is highly directional; at night it still protects Mexicali as well as a bunch of other co-channel and adjacent channel stations. Like KTNQ whose towers KXTA diplex on, 1150 has a separate directional pattern in the daytime and the night hours. Both staitons cover less at night due to high protected contour signal levels. 690 does OK all the way up the coast to beyond Santa Barbara, but by the time you get very far inland, it becomes mostly useless on the average receiver. I can not change the laws of physics and can see the 10 mV/m countour for XETRA (which uses higher day power than night, by the way) Neither 690 nor 1150 is very good around the Irvine area. Some areas may allow 690, depending on how near the coast they are. Huntington Beach, yes. Tustin, probably less listenable. I drive that route, along the 5, day and night, every few weeks on my way to San Diego. I would not give you money for either 1150 or 690 at the El Toro Y... which is generally thought of as being well south of the center of population of Orange County. I can remember XETRA when they were the first All-News station serving the US... and when they were the first AM stereo station "in the US" so I am more than familiar with the station, its coverage and history."

Clear Channel Resumes Streaming... Officials at Clear Channel and Hiwire tell RAIN that an agreement between the two companies will allow about 45 of the broadcaster's stations to resume streaming after some stations shut down their Internet simulcasts December 31.

Hiwire CEO Steve Goldberg and Clear Channel Director of Technology described to RAIN a new "all-in-one" pricing plan under which Hiwire provides streaming, ad insertion, and covers all royalty fees for one fixed price per listener-hour. San Diego Evalutron Ratings Time 1-10-03

  • Evalutrons: You Rate the Stations - The Fall Periods 1-3 Survey Is Now Online!

The Evautron took a year-end survey (not the one seen on this website) and asked the listeners what radio they liked best.

    Highlights:

Best SD Rock: KPRI. Best SD Light Pop: KIFM. Best SD Radio News: KPBS-FM. Best Christmas station: DFSXmas. Best dance station on the Internet: Party 93.1. Best rock station on the Internet: KOZT Ft. Bragg. Best morning radio show on the Internet: Bob and Tom. Best Morning SD Radio Show: Jeff and Jer (narrowly beating Madison & Tony). Best local music show: Go Loco. Best syndicated music show: Digital Groove (though Dr. Demento ranked a close second).

Worst format change: 94.9 to alternative. Worst playlist of new songs: Channel 933. Worst news item of 2002: Clear Channel takes over Z90 and 99.3. Most overlooked genre to program in San Diego: 24 hours of progressive dance. Runner up: adult rock on a stronger stick.

Worst SD Radio talk personality: TIE: Ted Leitner, Roger Hedgecock, Rick Roberts, Dave Rickards, and Mikey (must have been a weird coincidence as they each garnered 13 percent.)

Worst programming decision (not a format change): KGB firing Jim McInnes.

Worst thing about SD Radio: voice-tracked jocks, runner up is short playlists, and third is long commercial breaks.

In the Evalutron Fall 2002 Results, DFSXmas was the most popular at 9.65, followed by DFSX Comedy Radio (both run my D.T.), Party 93.1 is third, Megamix slips but stays at #4, and KIFM rounds out the top five. The next five are Radio Margaritaville, KPRI, Radio Paradise, KLOS and KYXY (tied at 9th).

Clear Channel Stations Sink In Ratings!

    http://members5.boardhost.com/KFMB/

Posted by Ben Shaton on 1/9/2003, 7:52 pm (includes factual errors):

"With the exception of KOCL-FM which played Christmas songs during this period, San Diegans were turning off local Clear Channel stations in droves last fall.

"Channel 933, KOGO, KGB, 91X, and KPOP all lost between 1/2 to 1 1/2 a share, and a spanish station beat all of them. KYXY was #1, KIFM #2, and Z-90 #3 (D.T. note: Z-90 is programmed by Clear Channel). XTRA Sports which benefited from football season and Z-90 are almost assured to drop off this winter. The Los Angelization of XTRA, will keep listeners away after Jim Rome signs off. At least if it causes Clear Channel to lose advertizers, maybe something good will come out of it. "

Ranting About The Arbitron Ratings: The Arbitrons for the fall of 2002 is out at rronline.com. Speaking of fall, looks like KGB's dumping of Jim McInnes proved fatal to the station, so much that The Planet is within striking distance of overtaking the dinosaur rocker for the first time in its eight year history. Take away the DSC show and it's likely that The Planet would easily beat KGB in the ratings.

Two of the San Diego radio stations, KYXY and KIFM, not only were the 1-2 punch on the Arbitrons, but were also ranked in the top ten of the fourth period Evalutron survey. Apparently, people are tired of all the teen rap and rock and demand to hear something else. DFSX is not available on a broadcast stick, so they tuned in to these two stations, enough to topple the SLO-GO 600 radio station from the top!

KHTS is K-HaTing it in the ratings as it slips down so fast that it skips a digit! That other all-christmas station was up over a point, though Internet's DFSXmas ranked as the #1 station of Fall 2002 on the Evalutron chart.

Alternative rocker 91X is down, thanks to competetion with the new 94.9, which plays about 1/3 of what 91X plays, and the surging 92.1, which plays what neither alternative rocker play. KIOZ's hard rock is also taking a hit, thanks to the other three stations. KPRI isn't going anywhere. Bob and KSON remain about the same.

    From http://members3.boardhost.com/scgroove/:

San Diego ratings make me want to do a dance! posted by Glenn: (the guy with too many n's in his name) "Happy to see Clear Channel could only muster up two of the top six stations with all their formats. And even happier that bi..ch Diana Laird's horrible sounding Channel 93.3 takes a dump...!

"Christmas did work in San Diego as KOCL climbed..., just like last year it did on My's frequency..."

"Top station is Infinity's KYXY which went [up]. Jefferson Pilot's Smooth Jazz KIFM went [up]. Diana Laird's new FM to destroy, Z90, moved sideways... KOGO [down].

"I hope San Diego residents are tuning out CC and their rediculous stable of stations."

Posted by JOSH: "Let's be honest folks, I don't think that Michael Halloreen has a winner at all, so with that, let's send him on his merry way and flip 94.9 to a Rhythmic CHR (Hip Hop and R&B) (D.T. note: YUCK!). JP does own KS 107.5 in Denver and if it's true about the "Wild" Rumors at KFMD, I think a little sweet revenge could happen in JP's court."

Posted by Jay F: "CCs KOGO,KHTS,KIOZ,and 91X all hit their lowest shares in recent memory. I think this was the worst book 91X had in their 20 year history."

But now the FCC admits it may have acted hastily in authorizing the trust. Entravision Set to Sell 2/3 of Viva 107.1, Sets Goals 4 Three Formats

Speaking at the Salomon Smith Barney Global Entertainment, Media & Telecommunications Conference, Chairman/CEO Walter Ulloa said Entravision "will probably divest" KSYY/Fallbrook, CA and KVYY/Ventura, CA - two of the three signals that comprise the Southern California "Viva 107.1" trimulcast the company is purchasing from Big City for $137 million. "We think there is $10 million in value there," Ulloa said. The funds would be used to offset costs associated with the launch of two new formats Entravision has set for KSSE/Riverside and for simulcast partners KSSC/Santa Monica, CA and KSSD/Newport Beach, CA; those three stations currently air the Spanish Contemporary "Super Estrella" format, and Ulloa confirmed that Super Estrella will relocate to the third Big City station - KLYY/Arcadia-L.A. - no later than early February.

Entravision's New L.A. Assets Were Run By 'Troubled' Operation

"They haven't been a good competitor," Entravision head Walter Ulloa said of Big City. "They certainly didn't price their inventory the way we would." Ulloa said Entravision had looked at purchasing Big City's L.A.-area trimulcast for quite some time but that it was simply "a stick acquisition" - meaning there was never any intention to keep "Viva 107.1" on the air. However, Ulloa said, the shift of the Super Estrella format to KLYY will be fairly easy, as Viva and Super Estrella air nearly identical formats. Ulloa also predicted that Super Estrella will be able to increase its 12+ share in L.A. to a 2.0 within 12 months of moving to KLYY, and that KSSE and KSSC & KSSD will each get a 1.0 share by the start of 2004.

    On a recent Tuesday afternoon from 4 to 5 p.m. 91X played 13 commercials, 94/9 aired 8, and 92/1 played 5.

"91X: Doing good. No need for change here.

"92/1: Upgrade the signal? I dunno.

"Magic 92.5: More of an Urban AC like KJLH or WDAS

"Channel 933: Mabye they should just go all Rhythmic again? They're there already minus the John Mayer song.

"My 94/1: Why not a 80s flashback show on Sunday nights? And why do I get the feeling that Jagger and Kristi are the only jocks on there?

"FM 94/9: Ok Halloreen, you've proven that you're not stable. Give it up ok? Go start a record label or something and stop whining about how you think 91X doesn't play Cornershop or whatever.

"Kool 95.7: Anyone think Masen should go? Let's be honest, he is an AC jock and this is a top 40 like station oldies style. That's like putting Big Boy on KSON.

    The Readers Strike Back!

From Brandon (e-mail addresses are withheld by the editor to prevent spammer harvesting)

    "My radio thoughts for 2002.

"I found myself listening to Magic 92.5, and even set my radio to it. I also saw that it moved right up on the arbitrons so I wasn't the only one. Just when I started to like it Rick Thomas resigns. Go figure!

"Channel 933, less and less. Can't stand listening to an old guy (Haze) try to be young and hip. Doesn't work. I will say BoyToy Jessey replacing Rick Vaughn was smart. How about having him replace Haze?

"KYXY, thank you for giving me the time, weather, and a live breathing DJ. How long can you and The Planet keep doing this? It's great.

"Started listening to the new morning girl Mia on z90. Give her more talking time please. Maybe ditch the Mizfitz and do a "Mia in the Morning" show. Although Mia was fun, Jeff and Jer still got the majority of my time in the morning. I know, how can I stand listening to all of those commercials!?! The KGB dial went to magic -- haven't heard Mojo yet and rarely listen to Dave. Even bought his best of CD a few years ago. Not for a while. Speaking of new morning girls, why did Bridget on 933 go? Why did Bridget's Diary and Bridgets showbiz file. become Jaimes? Can't Jaime come up with anything on her own?

"I'll admit I listened to Rick Roberts more than I should have! I had no choice, he was on KFMB all day long most of the time. I was actually ok listening to him and enjoyed his show (although his callers kissing his butt all the time gets really old). He did a good job and had great coverage even though his Little River got busted. I would like to recommend that KFMB-AM keep their top/bottom of the hour news at those times. Drives me crazy when Rick (or commercials) go on and on. Six minutes past the hour and they start their news. That's when I jump over to KOGO. Have actually been able to catch both news packages because KFMB let's Rick go over his time. Tracy, let's get on that.

"Cool 95.7 or Christmas 95.7 or Cool Christmas 95.7. pretty cool. My wife loves it and, got to say, ballsy for Clear Channel to do it. Just a question, why start playing Christmas music on Thanksgiving day. everyday. but stop at 3pm on Christmas day?? If you are playing Christmas music for over a month, will a few more hours kill ya?

"Jazz 98.1 is doing very well in the ratings. How is this possible????

    "B94.9. Try again.

"I heard My94.1 is celebrating "My Birthday" (I find that annoying). I listened for a while, off and on, but just can't get into it that much. Reminds me of Mix, just My.

"Star 1007. has finally let some new voices be heard on their airwaves! Took too long to ditch Ricky Lopez & The Soup Lady but finally hearing some talent from Rick Morton and Sarah. Star, please let these young voices be heard! Lastly, don't tell me a week after your precious Jingle Ball that you are already working on the 2003 show.

"I look forward to a new and exciting year! Who knows what we will hear. but we will keep listening and commenting. Have fun! -- Brandon"

    From Jabar:

"I wish 92.5 would start playing the real old school music I used to listen to more often instead of 80's freestyle all the time. I prefer to hear the old funk from the 70's and late sixities more often because that's the best era of black music as that era of music helped spur the growth of the soul music programming format on FM radio in the early 70's. XSOL tried that for one year, but 92.5 in its day though weak back then used to not only be a leader in that genre, but it got help from an AM station KCBQ playing Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Jackson 5, Dionne Warwick, Gladys Knight and the Pips, and all those other cross-over soul artists that helped get the white population exposed to and to appreciate soul music music that they would never otherwise heard in their lives. Exposure on KCBQ may have helped further the growth of the specialty soul formats on the FM dial, perhaps other AM stations may have done so to a much smaller contribution.

"Back in the day, XHRM used to run a Sunday morning block of uplifting gospel soul music. I wish they would resurrect that kind of programming."

    From Andrew McReynolds:

"I have a better idea what radio should do in 2003 in San Diego

"Clear Channel sells all of their radio station properties including the Mexico ones to broadcasters that are not currently in the area. I don't want Sell'em or Midworst TV to get some of the stations. Wimpfinity either. Sell KOGO to Disney and have them put Radio Disney on a strong station that will reach all over the coast. Sell KPOP to Shotgun Tom so he can put on golden rock oldies. Sell Z90 to Ja Rule. Sell 91X to Oasis. Sell 92.5 to Stevie Wonder. Sell 93.3 to Eminem. Sell 94.1 to Jewel. Sell 95.7 to Paul McCartney. Sell 99.3 to Alan Jackson. Sell 101.5 to The Rolling Stones. Sell 105.3 to Megadeath. And sell KSDO 1130 to me so I can put on all liberal talk. Think how much better local radio would be if some of the singers programmed their own stations."

Editor's Note: Stevie Wonder owns KJLH 102.3 out of the Los Angeles area.

Gary Owens is joining KLAC "The Fabulous 570" AM with a 1-4 p.m. weekday show starting Monday, the station announced Friday. He's in his 21st year with the "Music of Your Life" adult- standards format heard on more than 200 stations in the United States but never in Los Angeles.

KLAC Program Director Brad Chambers said KLAC is consulting for "Music of Your Life." In exchange, KLAC gets access to some of the MOYL talent - Owens, and - down the road, in details to be worked out - Wink Martindale and Johnny "Weather With a Beat" Magnus. Owens' comedy bits, "Laugh Out Loud," will air four times daily weekdays.

Here's the rest of the new lineup: Chambers will do double duty as "Brad Martini - Martini in the Morning," 5-9 a.m.; Jim Duncan, 9 a.m.-noon; the "Two Martini Lunch," featuring two versions of the same song, noon-1 p.m.; Owens, 1-4 p.m.; Daisy Torme, Mel's daughter, 4-7 p.m. Weeknights and overnights are still to be determined, said KLAC spokesman Bill Lewis.

Is Orange's KPLS/830 AM "Radio on the Right" for sale? General Manager Alan Fuller said in an e-mail, "It's not true," but reports surfaced that Salem - operators of KRLA/870 AM, KKLA/99.5 FM, KFSH/95.9 FM - may be a buyer. A Salem spokesman offered "no comment" regarding the sale of KPLS, which airs Don Imus, Laura Ingraham, Dana Roth and George Putnam. It would be ironic if Putnam - who parted company with Salem - ended up working for it again. If a deal happened, would operations move to Salem's Glendale headquarters? We can only speculate, but this will be a hot topic in radio circles. Stay tuned.

Recent Deal Recaps "Cool Radio 94.3 FM" was still airing its alternative-music format Friday, but KMXN could go Spanish as early as today. Art Astor sold it to Liberman Broadcasting for $35 million. It will simulcast "Que Buena" Regional Mexican format on 94.3 and 105.5 FM. And "Viva 107.1 FM" will soon become Spanish contemporary "Super Estrella." Entravision purchased KLYY and two sister stations from Big City for $137 million. News KFWB/980 AM has not yet been placed in a trust, although that's the plan, said KFWB chief engineer Paul Sakrison. "It has not been approved or otherwise acted on by the FCC. Everything is business as usual."

Don Barrett - Los Angeles Radio People
Holiday news: KABC used Bob Rivers' breakout hit album this season, "White Trash Christmas," as bumper music. "He is a disc jockey out of Seattle," said Ken Minyard. "Bob was here for about a minute and lasted only a week at some station here in Los Angeles for whatever reason and then went back to Seattle. He is a big personality in that market and does these albums. This one broke out this year and is on the charts," said Ken.
