    Classical Music For Dummies

    Conservative talk station KCBQ/AM 1170 has a new weekly music program called "Classical Music for Dummies." Hosted by Marden Abadi (director of the La Jolla Piano Institute), it airs at 6 p.m. Sundays. The 53-year-old Abadi, who said he was a protege of the late Artur Rubinstein, said his radio show will try to peak the interest of individuals who don't follow classical music. He will use recordings and piano in his live show.

    KKSM 1320 Oceanside Programming Notes

    Doug Best Swings

    The unsinkable Doug Best is back on the air for the first time since the now-defunct KSPA showed him the door last summer. "Doug Best Swings" will air from 6-10 a.m. each Saturday on KKSM, the tiny Palomar College station. Best, a former Escondido mayor, will feature big-band tunes and favorites from the Big Easy.

    Oldies and Oddities

    The show airs Saturday afternoons from 2-5 on KKSM 1320 AM/92.3 CABLE FM. The show plays all of your favorites plus the usual obscure/demented/strange/wild recordings. It's Oldies and Oddities with Host/Creator/Producer Zeb Navarro and Jen Ernest on Comet 1320! Also look for Jen's spotlight on local bands during the show on Saturdays. Check out the Oldies and Oddities website at http://hometown.aol.com/oddoldies If you live in an area out of KKSM's signal range, then pack up the kids and go to a park in the North County Coastal area.
