On Monday Night, the day after the so-called Emmy TV awards, the DTV Awards were handed out to the winners of TV programs that deserved recognition, but were foolishly ignored by the Emmys.

Note that this applies to shows that I have watched on free broadcast TV for the 2001-02 season.

Worst Lead Actor in a TV Series (any genre): Bob Saget "Raising Dad"

Worst TV Series (Drama): Ally McBeal

Worst TV Series (Comedy): Raising Dad

Worst TV Series (Animated or Fantasy or Reality or Audience Participation): The Chamber

Most Overrated TV Series (comedy, including cable and Pay TV) Sex and the City

Most Overrated TV Series (drama, including cable and Pay TV) The Sopranos

Most Overrated Series (reality, game, etc.) American Idol

Show That Should Have Been Renewed: The Job

Most Beautiful Woman on TV: Alyssa Milano "Charmed"

Outstanding Lead Actor in a TV Series (comedy or drama): Bryan Cranston "Malcolm in the Middle"

Outstanding Lead Actor in a TV Series (animated): Mike Judge "King of the Hill"

Outstanding Lead Actress in a TV Series (comedy or drama): Tie: Heather Locklear "Spin City", Alyssa Milano "Charmed" (I got autographs from these two in the past year!)

Outstanding Lead Actress in a TV Series (animated): Julie Kavner "The Simpsons"

Outstanding Supporting Actor (any genre): Hank Azaria "The Simpsons"

Outstanding Supporting Actress (any genre): Caroline Rhea "Sabrina the Teenage Witch"
