Where Were You 25 Years Ago Today...(Aug 16, 2002)

Then, one minute, I got a shocking sense of reality like no other that I've ever felt in my entire life... it was the humid Tropic weather that made me feel like I was one giant bottle of Elmer's School Glue!

Then another minute, I got another shock of reality....I touched the chassis of my Radio Shack Air/Police radio kit I built to receive the sound of Channel 100 illegally with the cable hooked up, and I received something that sounded like somebody had been involuntairly transferred from one realm to another.

There's more. The person sounded like he was singing in the styles of country, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and a little bit of jazz combined. He was belting out the hits for a screaming crowd that seemed to enjoy what this singer was performing. The crowd was so loud, you see, that I could barely hear what this singer was singing. All I could make out at first were the words such as "hound dog", "cruel", "teddy bear", "tender", and "conversation". The "conversation" part didn't make as much sense as the other words did, though it also came from the same person.

A few minutes later, the TV news blurted out a bulletin saying that "Elvis had left the realm" so to speak. Maybe that was him I was hearing that was being drowned out by a cheering crowd on the pirate Channel 100 receiver.

After that "Elvis leaving" episode. Some strange things began to happen. I rode my bike (I was 17 and broke at the time since the idiot San Diego Outlanders wouldn't hire me because I lacked experience or some other bull excuse they could think of, I guess they hated Italians) past the Dunkin Donuts shop along a road, and there, in front of my eyes, was Elvis, and I couldn't believe it! Elvis was eating a ton of jelly donuts right there inside Dunkin' Donuts!

A few days later, the TV news reported another "Elvis" sighting. It was something about Elvis riding the mysterious sea serpent in some swamp land. Another spotted Elvis a few weeks later in a house watching The Muppet Show with the kids. More Elvis sightings followed with more and more frequency until it seemed like more people saw Elvis after he "left the realm" than they did before he left this building on August 16.
