Nickel Creek came by the KSON Studios on Wednesday Morning (8/14) to promote their second release "This Side." Chris Thile, Sara Watkins, and Sean Watkins spent an hour on air and played selections from the new CD and from their debut release live. Tony & Kris also surprised them with breakfast from their favorite Mexican Restaurant, Juanita's in Leicadia, Ca. Thanks to KSON for the article. Radio Wires (August 14, 2002)KLON, 88.1 MHz, in Long Beach, has announced that its call letters were changed to KKJZ effective on August 9, 2002. General Manager Judy Jankowski is quoted as saying, "We wanted call letters that accurately reflect the best jazz and blues radio programming in the country."
