Singers Dido, Minogue double up at Brit Awards

The United Kingdom's Dido and Australia's Kylie Minogue were double winners Wednesday night at the 21st annual Brit Awards, the U.K. record industry's splashiest night. Dido won awards for best British female solo artist and British album, for her 12 million-selling debut, "No Angel." Minogue took nods for best international female solo artist and international album ("Fever"). Fellow Aussie Russell Crowe was on hand to present Minogue with her artist award. Travis was named best British group, and Destiny's Child was named best international group. Gorillaz, the cartoon band formed by Blur frontman Damon Albarn and "Tank Girl" creator Jamie Hewlett, was shut out, leaving six nominations.
