After moving to escape its deal with NBC last month, Paxson Communications (A:PAX) is reportedly getting serious with a couple of new suitors. According to the New York Post, MGM and Disney (N:DIS) are now the leading candidates to acquire Paxson, whose 62 TV stations provide "must-carry" access to most of the nation's cable TV systems. Meanwhile, Moody's has assigned a B3 rating to Paxson's proposed offering of $310M in bonds to retire more expensive debt. Moody's also changed its long-term outlook for Paxson to "negative," noting "increasing concern over strains in the NBC relationship, pressures on the company's growth plans from the weak advertising market, and the material shift in capital mix that results from the proposed refinancing."
