Dave's Vernalmas 2004 Adventure in El Zona de los Misterio

Day 17: The Last Day of Vernalmas Season (April 4, 2004 Gregorian date, Aqua 12, 2008 Milleian date).

It was the day the Tournament of Balloons Parade had its moments in the morning.

There was a Howard Dean balloon deflating 1/4 way down the parade route, to be quickly overtaken by the John Kerry balloon.

The mighty wind pushes the Britney Spears and Madonna ballons onto a collision course and they collided with each other at their "lips" where they were locked together. This resulted in a record number of pictures snapped. A gay minister balloon married them on the spot.

The Howard Stern balloon was censored so much by the FCC that all that could be exposed was his dark sunglasses, while a black linen covered the rest of the Stern balloon.

The Janet Jackson balloon was 3/4 way down the balloon route when the strong gust kicked in, so much of a surprise that it ripped part of Janet's top off of the balloon, exposing her right breast. The embarrassed balloonists frantically tried to get it down quickly to the ground, but that ended up being the most replayed TiVo balloon event in the Parade's history!

The winning balloon of the year? Who else? The Rush Limbaugh Balloon, of course, for taking up most of the hot air inside, as always.

Later that evening, during the fireworks show, D.T. and Alyssa, Scotty and Carlotta, and Chachi and The Little Merbabe, celebrated the Vernalmas Grand Finale Fireworks Show from a hill facing El Zono Loco to the East near Bet Cha Hills and Gross Out Mesa. They listened to, well, Dr. Demento in the Torino as the soundtrack of the fireworks show.

After the fireworks show, at about 11pm, D.T. drove the ladies back home with the Merbabe joining Alyssa and Carlotta to help get her into society. After the guys kissed the ladies goodbye and left towards the Torino, D.T. and the boys were knocked down by Nikkos and Rikkos, who stole the keys to the Torino and drove off in it. Chachi, Scotty, and D.T. got up and took chase to the Torino in Chachi's motorized scooter that can stand three men in it.

The Torino and Scooter drove up north on route 127, then headed west on city highway 98, then south on highway 125 where the entry points to the San Diego County realm were located in various spots.

As the chase went on, the carjackers, Nikkos and Rikkos, reached 85 mph, but Chachi's motorized scooter reached 90 mph in a death-defying speed race on the freeway. Using jet-propelled rockets in the scooter, Chachi reached the high speed quickly. By the time they reached the Torino, the carjackers bolted up to 88mph, but they did not worm over to the San Diego realm because the digital cathode tube was not activated in the Torino.

Chachi's scooter touched the torino as they caught up to it. Scotty laid his hand on the Torino, and just as Scotty did so, D.T. remote-activated the digital cathode tube in the Torino once the Torino hit one of the San Diego realm travel hot spots on the freeway, the cathode went on while the Torino was going 88mph, and once the sparks started to shoot, the Torino took the carjackers, plus the boys in Chachi's scooter since Scotty was touching it while Chachi was driving and D.T. was working the remote control, back into the San Diego realm.
