Dave's Vernalmas 2004 Adventure in El Zona de los Misterio

Day 16: Catch Up With The Holidays Day (April 3, 2004 Gregorian date, Aqua 11, 2008 Milleian date).

By decree of the King, it was declared Catch Up With The Holidays Day, where the citizens had to cram 14 holidays into one as well as catching up with their plans for tomorrow's annual Tournament of Balloons Parade, the world's largest parade of its kind. There was also the annual Lords vs. Commons baseball season kick-off game after that, and in the evening after sundown, the zonewide fireworks show as the Western half of El Zona, which is in the Specific Time Zone, goes to Daylight Saving Time at the stroke of three in the morning, two hours after midnight. The Big Ben clocks have Daylight Saving automatic adjustment capabilities.

The King tells everybody that they must move their clocks forward one hour by the second after 1:59:59am or else they will be transferred into the Wrong Time Zone Realm for the rest of their lives.

The holidays that El Zona missed that they have to celebrate are:
March 21: Understanding all religious cultures day (you don't have to agree with them, just understand why they exist and live with them).
March 22: Get an early jump on summer day. Practice the summer lifestyle...whatever!
March 23: Get out of the house and play day. It's the end of cabin fever! Get a blowtorch to melt the snow!
March 24: Feed the Homeless Feast Day. Better yet, give them a job, and a place to live until they can be on their own! The Vernalmas Holidays are not just a time for giving to the needy, it's a time to get them to pull their own weight. Face it. Just giving blankets and food don't do them much good for long (got that, KSWB and Clear Channel?)
March 25: Gift giving from those who hibernated thru Christmas.
March 26 (second week begins): Rock and Dance Party Day (sort of like Mardi Gras, but wilder, only we've already done our version of lent during the winter months!) Parties are everywhere. I told you that the Vernalmas Holidays are party time!
March 27: Begin Christmas Shopping Day (the snow's melting, now it's the time to start shopping for Christmas before it gets too cold!)
March 28: Reward yourselves with a family barbecue day
March 29: Understanding Mother Earth's Wildlife Day
March 30: Celebrate with beer day. Have a few beer parties with sports, music, and girls wrestling and other manly stuff or something!
March 31: Exchanging Jokes With Folks Day. Not really April Fools, but close to it.
April 1: Springtime rekindle your love day, aka Make Love Day (Valentines Day without the winter blahs!)
April 2: Baseball card collection day
April 3: Spring cleaning your home day. Invite your relatives to undo all the damage to your place after staying with you for two weeks!

And today, April 3, they have to observe all of those days at once!!! Yikes! It wasn't easy. I'll spare you too much details. There's too many things going at once!

Wendy and Jennifer, the married hermaphrodite and female couple, were the grand marshals in the annual Trans Pride parade in the Hillary Crest community. Kids and parents were busy trading, not just baseball cards, but cartoon character cards, trading the likes of Birdman, Space Ghost, The Impossibles, Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, The Wacky Races, Josie and the Pussycats, and many others.

D.T., Scotty, Hoss, Alyssa, and Carlotta were aiding the community in putting the motorcade together for the Parade and finishing touches on the topical balloons which will be revealed tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Tikkos was sent by his two brothers to spy on D.T. and his gang and to report back to them with any details.

Hoss and Mr. R went over to the YMCA building to teach the boys how to deal with bullies who threaten to put the freeze on you.

Chachi went to the Navy to find the Little Merbabe that they rescued a few days ago, but the Navy personnel said that it was classified information. Chachi called the RSB headquarters, asking for Robert the commissioner, but the staff said that Robert was on vacation and not expected back until after the weekend. Chachi was almost out the door when suddenly, a few Navy men pushed open the door inwards, trapping Chachi between the door and the wall, and they were escorting the Little Merbabe into the headquarters. Chachi came out and said that it was her he wished to see. The Navy apprehended Chachi, but the Little Merbabe said to free Chachi because she wanted to talk to him. The Navy let Chachi go, and somehow, the Navy was convinced that they could trust Chachi to find a home for the Little Merbabe. Chachi carried her into his car and he drove off to meet D.T. and the gang.

Today was also declared "Make Love Day" among 13 other holidays, and D.T., Alyssa, Chachi, the Little Merbabe whatever her name was, Scotty, Carlotta, Wendy and Jennifer all quadrupled dated to celerbrate the subday with a big seafood dinner at, well, The Fish Palace. What did you expect? Fish King? They celebrated with fine wines, kissing, dancing to electronica music by the mix deejays, and partying into the early morning. Hoss came over with his wife, who "left" the corporate media guy because, well, he died a few days ago (Hoss never found out that it was Mikkos that she was dating). Chachi the boogie man asked Hoss to dance, but Hoss refused saying that he can't dance.
