El Zona Radio Gets Into The Holiday Sprit (March 18, 2004)

 Many radio stations in the El Zona de los Misterio realm have been going crazy vieing for attention for their listeners ears with marathon stunts to raise money, food, and clothes for the working poor in the region. Some did the infamous "stay up inside the crane" stunt until they met their goal, some had watch-tv-a-thons for men featuring marathon showings of "Sex and the City" where they raised money for the Damn Great Will Industries charity as they were "made" to watch the complete series in succession, raising $10 per hour from their sponsors, until they couldn't stand to watch the series anymore. Many of them watched a couple of hours and left, ending their marathon, but only one "man" made it all the way through the entire series, raising over $5,630 from some 200 or so sponsors, simply because, it turned out to be a woman!

Still other radio stations in El Zona had toy drives in conjunction with techno pop, country, and comedy folk concerts, where the audience donates a toy as a fee to get in to enjoy the show. One station, "Hip Hitz 102.8", auctioned off their entire 24 hour day from 6am Saturday - 6am Sunday and let one listener (who paid $16,425) to program the station any way they choose. The winner chose, believe it or not, to play his entire 70's and 80's love song collection (no station played that kind of a format in El Zona) on the air. After the shift, he was kidnapped by fed-up listeners who took him hostage and force-fed him 24 hours of continuous Macarena mixes from DFSX Radio they pirated from San Diego!

The best one of all? 100 low-wage workers got their salaries 10-fold for the year when super-rich McDimwits Hamburgers baron Jone Isson Krac got wise and gave some of her billions in yearly revenue to the people who really deserve the money: the working poor. Any clues out there for you, Pizza Hut? Burger King? 7-11? Who's really making your money in the first place? Michael Brown of some pizza chain, are you reading this? You got some money to pay out to the poor and they're working for you right now.
