What's My Beef!

Main WMB Page
The network that is most out of touch with the mood of America happens to be NBC.

Reason 1: Their "Must See TV" isn't watchable. Friends is way over. Will and Grace are not interesting. Just Shoot Me should quit shooting episodes. ER is overhyped and the actors way overpaid. Stories get recycled so many times that it's just plain sickening! Nobody cares about these shows since the last good NBC show, Seinfeld, retired.

Reason 2: Law and Orderization of new shows. What else is there? Law and Order: Janitor Duty?

Reason 3: "Mustn't See Tuesday Either". Emerill can't cook. Three Sisters no good. Frasier needs to practice elsewhere. Scrubs is a dud!

Reason 4: Prime Time Soaps are 80's. Providence and West Wing? This is the 2000's folks. Soaps are dead!

Reason 5: Reality programming just isn't captivating. Lost should get just that...lost.

NBC did better when it was under the late Brandon Tartikoff days and even during the lamented Fred Silverman days. Nowadays, none of the NBC programming is fit for kids under 13 to be watching or interesting enough for the casual viewer to watch.

Even the Weakest Link is getting a bit repetitious and becoming a one-trick pony. How many one-liners are left for Anne Robinson to come up with?

Bring back Real People! Bring back Buck Rogers, The Big Show, and BJ and The Bear! Bring back variety shows without the kid stuff! Bring back the feel good game shows and music hours. Bring back the family dramas and sitcoms! Bring back actors who are in it for enjoyment instead of ridiculous amounts of money.

An e-mail to nbcshows@nbc.com yielded this automatic response:

Thanks for your email... Since we cannot accept unsolicited scripts, show ideas, or other creative material, any such submission by email will be deleted without being read.

That explains the lack of creativity on the NBC prime time schedule. Hell, even the XFL was better than the thillology junk it replaced last year!

NBC: Not Broadcasting Correctly.

So forget the uncreative NBC network and switch to CBS for Survivor Africa, ABC for Whose Line, UPN for WWF Smackdown, WB for Elimidate Deluxe, Fox for baseball, PAX (well, screw PAX, they're partially owned by NBC), or UBC for The Jack and Phil Comedy Hour. "Jack and Phil" you ask? I'll explain later in the next El Zona report as well as a report on some cutting edge broadcast and local networks that are wowing the viewers over the traditional broadcast networks in the El Zona region.
